600 wt. oil, 50 wt. equiv.
3.75mm spacer under camber link
3rd hole in on shock tower
inner hole on arm
4' caster
stock ackerman
1' toe out in tie rods
1mm spacers under blocks
longest camber link location on bulkhead
4mm ride height
2' camber
1mm droop over ride height

2.5' rear toe in the blocks
no sway bar
17.5 spring, White Xray
500 wt. oil, 40-45 wt. equiv.
1.5mm spacer under camber link
2nd hole in on shock tower
inner hole on arm
1mm spacer under blocks
longest camber link location on bulkhead
4.5mm ride height
2.5-3' camber
Arms all the way back
.75 spacer behind rear hub
2mm droop over ride height

Magenta tires F/R
3/4 sauce front, full rear
Protoform DNA1 body

This is all with a box stock chassis. On anything except the highest traction this will work pretty good.

Good luck!

ok I've wondered something for awhile about spacers under the pivot blocks. I have an "S" upgraded with 3 racing parts so that almost all the plastic is gone. You said you used a 0 degree block on the front with 1 mm spacers under the blocks. I've tried that with my Cyclone and it just won't work. The arms rub against the bulkheads.... not to mention the steering turnbuckles hitting the FR pivot. Most setups I've seen that have raised the front blocks are using the 2.5 degree. That I could possibly see because it would move the arms a little away from the bulkhead. How did you get yours to work.... any modifications?

I'm from the Omaha area but unfortunately couldn't race last weekend. Wish I could have seen your Cyclone run... unfortunately I'm about the only Cyclone guy around running TC anymore. Hope you enjoyed our facility!!

Not yet.
Only the newer Cyclone WCE, with 18T center pulley and longer belts.
If somebody could find evidence to confirm the release of new HB chassis, maybe i will take decision among coming TRF416.

What kind of racing are you planning on using the trf416 for?

I just want racing in 540 silver can class, in the case of Modified class has lack of drivers and 23T Sportsman class (my favourite) it's banned in my zone.
As Tamiya said it's for BL and control tire, in my eyesight it's just image promotion and pretext to release a car design copied from Xray. We must understand even in Japan it's not (yet) legally using BL system, i think should be good too in big turn motor races, due 23T is hugely famous to race on technical and narrow tracks of that country.
Of course 1 of my choice it's also Cyclone, because it's famous around me, then a lots of 540 clubman races in Japan are dominated by Cyclone of any versions.

I had asked that employee from HPI in this thread before, but nothing replied.
Hold a second, DEC. edition of japanese magazines will release in these days, maybe there's some clues about this, but i preview should be difficult to find so much due it's so earlier to happen. Maybe after JMRCA Expert class nationals, let's see what chassis will Atsushi Hara use to this race.

I ordered the 18 tooth pulleys, and the new belts, just wondering what they make the tranny ratio now?

Is it 2.1?

question...do you have to have the new belts with the 18t pulley?

a friend of mine runs the 3 racing 18t pulleys and never changed the belts...is it necessary?

Nope, as I saw photos in the JMRCA expert class qualify race, doesn't appeared the new HB chassis as rumoured before in the race.
Maybe only in Super expert finals, next year or IFMAR worlds, stay tuned.
