Default lipo cutoff broken

In novalink I set lipo cutoff to 6.4 volts just to be extra safe and the next thing you know my batteries are below 6v!

Yes my truck slowed down but I figured the cutoff would kick in at any moment. I pulled the thing because I was getting suspicious. I'm glad I did. I just hope my brand new batter pack isn't toast.

On the racing ESC's, the Lipo Cutoff should "pulse" or cut out before you get to Low Voltage, if you don't stop or notice the pulsing, you can run the car past lipo cutoff.

Thanks

I have run a few packs (8) through this Novak Kinetic ESC and I must say I love it! Well done Novak. I do not, as yet, have the NovaLink, but the adjustments I need for mod buggy are available through the one-touch. I'm running a 9.5 with motor timing at 20-degrees and electronic timing advance at 40-degrees starting at the 14-some thousand RPM setting. The set-up is easily as fast as my 4wd buggy with a 8.5 and a competitor's ESC (old one). The settings are intuitive and each increment is palpable. I love the temp check capability right in the ESC with a simple touch of the button; Super Handy! You guys thought of everything. The only thing I had to deal with was a power-cap module that had been assembled wrong. Novak has instructions to fix it yourself, but I chose to have them send me a replacement as my solder skills are a little lacking. No problem at all because customer service has been impeccable. Definitely a good product! Thank You!

It is a shame that so many have felt the need to emphasize the few issues this stellar ESC has experienced. If you are looking for a new ESC, this one should definitely be on your short list.

Thought you guys at Novak deserved some kudos.

Well when your an early adopter of any new tech there are problems. And pointing them out and getting things ironed out is not emphasizing something that is not there. While I agree that the ESC is pretty great. I also have not seen a stable version of the nova link yet. The RPM range on mine still gets stuck. If you never use the novalink then you probably will also experience zero issues. That is why I recommend the Havok proSC to just about everyone. The kinetic requires a little more willingness to have stuff not work right all the time.

And I also agree novak service is great. That is never in question.

B4
novak kinetic 2s
ballistic 17.5 set at 30 degrees
4000mah 25c 2s lipo
75 spur and 32 pinion
boost activated with 20 degrees timing set point

Anyone see a problem with this setup or have suggestions?

I am going to run this tomorrow night at my local track.

Usually I don't try to start out with the Boost On.

Do some basic running first with higher timing usage, then use the boost if that all works decent.

Boost is "max" timing, not a good idea to start out on max of anything.
