Just wondering if Canadians are welcome to race and if we race the finals are we eligible for the trip this year?

The bad news is the FINALS is only open to U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents.
HOW TO QUALIFY FOR THE 2017 TCS FINALS
After the end of the TCS season there is a TCS Finals Championship. It is held in Aliso Viejo,
California, home of the Tamiya America Raceway track facility. Four classes are chosen at the
beginning of the season where the champion of that class moves on to the Tamiya World
Championships held at Tamiya’s headquarters in Shizuoka-City, Japan.
In order to participate in the TCS Finals, all participants competing in a Tamiya World
Championship class must be legal citizens and permanent residents of the United
States of America. All other regions are excluded at this time.
In order to enter a “trip winning” TCS Finals class, you must have competed in that class
during the previous or current regional season.
All TCS racers finishing in the top ten in any class automatically qualify for the Tamiya TCS
Finals. Racers who did not finish in the top ten will be given first priority as “walk-ins” on a
first come basis. Unqualified racers and walk-ins may not enter a trip winning class, which
they have never raced in previously. You must have participated in the 2016 and or 2017
season to be eligible to take part in the TCS 2017 finals.
EXCEPTIONS include: GT SPEC Novice, GT-Pro Spec, FWD, and Euro Semi-Truck. If
you are new to TCS, you may enter GT Spec Novice, GT-Pro Spec, FWD, and Euro Semi-Truck.
The TCS Finals trip winning classes for 2017 are: GT-1, GT-2, Formula 1 and M-Chassis.
The winner of each eligible class is awarded a trip to Japan to compete in the Tamiya World
Finals held in November 2017.

I get it , kind of sucks in a way I would have liked to race the finals and just not been able to go but I get it totall and I am Happy I can go to other tcs races.
Maybe one day we will get tcs racing back in Canada one day.

FMW, In spite of the absolute clarity you wrote into rule #2, "The kit must be built exactly per the instruction manual", this bozo is still unclear on a few points: 1) Can we "zap" the servo saver solid? 2) Axle shims allowed? 3) Adding weights? Thanks, and Happy New Year everybody!

The purpose of this strategy was to simply win major races in the open classes, such as ETS, The Reedy Race of Champions, the IFMAR World Championships, and countless other prestigious events to establish a premium brand image for TRF. This direction has been in effect as far back as 1999 with select drivers from the USA and later with drivers from European countries.
After winning many World Titles and various prestigious events across the globe, the initial goal has been achieved and a new direction is needed to put the TRF brand to better use. Namely, the TRF brand will help Tamiya expand its main business moving forward, which is the beginner and the middle level hobbyist. Without question, TRF products help Tamiya develop amazing machines. The design and function of those products trickle-down to many of its entry level and mid-level products. This is why the TRF brand is important to Tamiya and will continue to be important as we move into a new direction in promoting the brand.
By the end of 2016, all contracts with top drivers will expire. For the above reasons, Tamiya has decided not to renew or make any new contracts in the way they have been doing so in the past. In lieu of what has been done, new TRF activities will begin to take shape beginning in 2017, including what we do in the USA. Fred I have built a truck fun class but the soft aluminium pinions are eating the spur gear. I was at a race in Stockton and couple of trucks sounded bad I sure would like to see you allow a direct replacement hard anodized 19t gear. It would make the maintenance much easier on the racers.
Thanks for listening. I understand keeping it box stock but $6 dallor gear is not straying off the box stock path too far.
