The dummy cell sounds like a good idea, as I have tried the foam and it gets pushed through onto the servo.
I still like the idea of having a proper made 5 cell tray like other manufacturers are doing with their cars, then we can optimize the full handling of the car is instead of compromising on setup all the time .
Just my thought

I would stick with the dummie cell, cause you can just move it behind the pack if you came across a situation where you needed to move the pack forward. Plus you can cut the piece of plastic and wrap it in cf tape and make it look all dialed. Either way, I can see now where the foam would be a probably, I was assuming it was solid behind the servo.

I have run 5 cell for a while now, with them in the rear position.
In the pictures below you can see the problem, there is nothing to keep the cells from moving forward in a crash.
so i really do believe a 5 cell battery tray is needed.
Ps, my cells used to be glued together
cheers

For all you 5 cell guys out there, I saw the Losi guys trying out a new 5 cell battery tray this weekend that looked interesting. It appeared to have the middle cell turned sideways and moved to one side to allow the esc to be moved inward so it doesn't hang off the chassis. They were also doing some test runs with their own brushless ESC and motor. Looked pretty good.
