My guess is they are raising the top deck to help with LiPo and steering link clearance. I have a smokem chassis and the steering link tends to rub the top deck a bit since the servo sits closer to the top deck. Why raise it from the bottom though? So the top deck sits flush with the spur bearings. That's my best guess at least.

They are raising the motor mount to stop the motor scraping off the ground and scrubbing off corner speed. They therefor have to put shims between the topdeck and bulkhead to keep it level.

Do you think this helps ??

surely rasing the heavyest thing on the car up by 1mm is a bad thing ???

You will loose more by the motor grounding in the corners.

I have been trying this mod since I saw it on Viktor's car at the last ETS race. It definitely stops the motor from scraping on the ground in high speed sweepers. (I have checked using paint pen).

Easy and simple to do. (and worth it IMO)

You think he raised/lowerd the chassis is because the drive train is reversed? Make some clearance for the belt under the pulley. Is that a new chassis?

Will do, currently I'm running HPI gold in the front and silver in the rear.

I always raise the inner ballstud for the rear camberlink by 0.5 to 1.0mm to get more on power steering.
I would not try a stiffer spring than HPI Silver, it's better to go softer inn the front, like silver front and rear.
