has anyone tried removing the front or rear diff/driveshafts to make a 2wd machine?
just wondering as I always thought that drifters are normally rear drive and the cup racers a 4wd and has a drift version. Im not particurlarly interested in drifting but it popped into my head anyway.

I wonder what HPI has up there sleeve!
If there are 0 3 6mm offset rims out and then the different hex.
Must come som much wider bodis in the future!

Needing to find some info on tires. Looking for a harder compound tire for the cup car. We run them on asphalt preped track. Like to find a rim and tire thats the same diameter(if there is one) as the one's that come on the car or close to it. The "m" compound is too soft and wearing out fast.

Tamiya, HPI original Mini and ABC tires/rims are all 54mm - HPI made the cup racer 60mm
why, I dunno 
probably more 'scale' then either a full-sized TC tire or the existing mini-tires...is your place running strictly Cup Racers? if not, you probably have an advantage running your Cup Racer because of its bigger tires
(you're roll out is higher with the CR tires then a standard mini tire - given the same gearing)You might wanna check out 3Racing or Square - they might have someting...Did you try a drift tire for the hell of it?

MikeR - the CRX chassis is awesome !!!!!!!
Got it all together just need to re-attached the steering plates (changed to the "B" plates)
I'll try and grab a few pics of it tomorrow and post it
it will be getting an 'east coast' workout starting Friday

unfortunately, the cup racer tire is an unique size...
Tamiya, HPI original Mini and ABC tires/rims are all 54mm - HPI made the cup racer 60mm why, I dunno probably more 'scale' then either a full-sized TC tire or the existing mini-tires...

I just measured a brand new pair of Tamiya 60D radials PN# 50683 and they measure 58mm in dia. which should be perfect.

Cup Racer tires/wheels are a different spec than the "regular" mini size to add to the scale realism of the car (ie. RC car tires/wheels for Mini and 1/10th scale sedans tends to make the cars looks like they have 18/19/20 rims with lo profile tires...)
You can use the "regular" mini wheels/tires with the Cup Racer (...just need to adjust the gearing accordingly)
