Make sure you don't have 2 set of lines on top of each other in your artwork.

select one of the lines and delete. If there is another line underneath it, then it means you have a vectorized object right on top of each other. GO ahead and delete and cut away.

Charlie, thanks as always for the tips & tuturiols

You mentioned it was the clear Avery vinyl that you printed on. Is that what you used to wrap your charger? I wonder if some of the other brands will work like 3M or Oracal? The one local supply shop here carries some Avery & 3M stuff, but more Oracal vinyl materials.

Chadlow, make sure the blade is oriented in the correct direction. I couldn't figure out why my stuff was lifting when it was being cut last night. I adjusted everything and anything but the problem still persisted. Eventually I realized I had forgoten to insert the blade with the nnotch facing out !....oh boy. But, after that it was smooth sailing again

Yes, the clear vinyl was the LAMINATE or protectant for the printed vinyl(white) that was printed on. Ill let John from OOC answer ur questions in more detail.

i plan on doing simple vinyl masks, stickers and tshirt designs.

i been staring at the robocraft
i been playing with flexi over the past couple of months and just need a cutter now to try out my work.

(of course i have AI, CD, and other programs to help me)

If you can afford it, the Roland GX-24 is the best bang for the buck (IMO). I have one and it works great.

I guess John did not decide to post. In anyrate, if you are looking for an affordable cutter, and i mean BANG FOR THE BUCK affordable, i would get a US Cutter plotter. I mean, 8 years ago i bought my Roland Stika for about $900 and limited to only 15" x 39"of cutting, and very slow. For about $350 you can get a BIG 24" plotter that is about 7-10 times faster, 24"x ?(160" or more)of vinyl to work with and is compatibkle with Flexi, signlab, etc.

Not to mention, the Stika is also made in China, therefore, for about a 3rd of the price, with a better machine, i would probably go with the Uscutter Plotter.

Yes, I am using windows, and I shouldnt have 2 graphics on top of each other, all I do is open the artwork in Illustrator and trace and expand, then send to the cutter.

I need some help I am looking at getting another cutter from a friend it holds a 24 in roll of vinyl and will cut up to 20 in but it has windows 95 program disk with it. I was wondering if anyone new if there was a new program that would work with it? It is a Great Computer Corporation model #GRC-50

I am getting it for a great price plus 10 rolls of vinyl it has never been out of the box.

Before I ask US Cutters I figure I will ask here.

Will this communicate with AI?
Will this communicate with inkscape?
Will this work on smaller peices of vinyl as well? Say if I had about 8-10" left from a roll. I would assume so.

Thanks. I just want to get all my facts before I get something.
