The iX8 esc has just been released but not sure if any shops have them yet, may be next week. The motor has been out for a while.
The esc has a 6 amp BEC so should be good for 1/8th buggies.
Check out LRP.cc or redrc.net and area52.com for more info.

I ran a 1900 w/rx8 with stock gearing on a large track and it handled it with ease. I am liking the 1900 in this car on 4s. I'm still amazed I was faster around the track and more consistent with the e car than its nitro brother.

the 1900 has such smooth power delivery. I used it with a clutch before and it was really nice. I think I'll start off with the 1900 and see how it goes. Then I'll switch over to the 1400 and see if the reduction in weight from smaller batteries makes a difference.

I had a prior serpent 811e with rcm kit. I had the 1900 on 4s. I had to gear up to 17t to get decent speed. 14 or 15t was horrifficly slow! I'll be running a 2050 in mines.

I haven't tried the low roll center rear plate and all I added were conical pistons, hard ano shock caps, alum front and rear towers, alum spring retainers, TiNi shock shafts, webbed shock bladders and front blue springs everything else was from the kit was stock including servos saver spring and Ackerman plate. Most of what I added was not necessary but I like to set my cars apart from the pack, even though this car does that all by itself

I'm practically done! Electronics will be in today.

I gotta say, serpent hit the nail on the head with this one. This has been one of my most smooth build. They really go it right with the shimming and pinion shaft assembly. the other style was a bad design IMO, in which left slop which lead to gear skipping. I love very part of this car. everything went together smoothly. So dremel was necessary! YAH!

However, that nano-tech 5600 mah pack is in there pretty darn tight!
