Racing tonight, and made some changes to front end. Just some a quick question.

I switched from blue springs in the front to yellow, and switched from blue to yellow sway bar in the front. My question is, what should I expect the truck to do with those changes?? I noticed a lot of people trying this change, and I wanted to "try it out". I'm not unhappy with the way my truck is handling, but I'm always looking for more.

yellow will take away some of the steering (not much) but allow it to float over bumps better from my experience. the blue/blue in the rear allows it to get more traction especially around corners.

good luck.

Does anybody think the AE engineers designed the chassis to flex this much on purpose??? or did China use really cheap plastic when they manufactured it ?

I had the same issue and all here suggested shimming sun gear in the diff. I put an extra washer on each side of the sun gear. I also bought a diff rebuild because my sun gears were worn. Ran last night and clicking sound go bye bye.

Default A few setup questions

I need to purchase a few items today and would like some input. I am new to the sc10 4X4 and have been reading alot!
1.Do you guys run the stock idlers ir the strc aluminum ones? How often do they need replacing?
2.Are you guys running 3-2 or 3-3 rear arm mount? stock or strc aluminum with delrin inserts?
3.How often does the slipper hardware (bearings, spring) need replacing?
4.I have the slipper basket and I am purchasing some garodisks today. How tight are you running the slipper?
5. I am currently running clicker locked, 20t rear belt gear, and slipper basket with a novak 5.5 hv and mmp. any suggestions for anything I should change? I have read that some run the 19t rear gear.
6. Any recommended settings for the MMP?
7. You guys still liking the 5K rear and 20k front diff fluids?

Sorry for all the questions if they have been covered, but this thread moves fast!

i've decided I am going to add a 4wd SC10 to the collection.

Can someone tell me what upgrades are absolutely necessary for full time race duty? I didn't see anything listed as a must have on Page 1.

I'm using stock, haven't tried the others, haven't needed replacing yet after about 30 packs.

2.Are you guys running 3-2 or 3-3 rear arm mount? stock or strc aluminum with delrin inserts?

3-2 stock, no issues so far.

3.How often does the slipper hardware (bearings, spring) need replacing?
Not sure, haven't' had to yet

4.I have the slipper basket and I am purchasing some garodisks today. How tight are you running the slipper?

I've got that setup and have it set so the nut is flush with the end of the shaft, but I think it could be a little looser, might try and cut the spring down.

5. I am currently running clicker locked, 20t rear belt gear, and slipper basket with a novak 5.5 hv and mmp. any suggestions for anything I should change? I have read that some run the 19t rear gear.
What's the KV rating? I'm running MMP and Pro4 4000kv, and run 15/62 with 20t front and rear with the pin mod.

6. Any recommended settings for the MMP?
I Use the dual mode with custom set throttle and brake curve, but the timing and other settings would depend on motor and gearing.

7. You guys still liking the 5K rear and 20k front diff fluids?
I'm running 5k / 30k with good results, but I may switch to 7k/20k now that I'm running the pin mod to get a little bit more on-power front steering back.

Sorry for all the questions if they have been covered, but this thread moves fast!

I hear ya man, I think its' good to rehash as new upgrades & mods come out to see if that changes other established setups.

1.Do you guys run the stock idlers ir the strc aluminum ones? How often do they need replacing? Stock, I have broken one rear, I believe this was do to too tight of a slipper
2.Are you guys running 3-2 or 3-3 rear arm mount? stock or strc aluminum with delrin inserts? Stock, 3-2
3.How often does the slipper hardware (bearings, spring) need replacing?I got my truck the first week it came out and run 1 to 2 times a week, at least 5 packs a day and have not worn these out yet.
4.I have the slipper basket and I am purchasing some garodisks today. How tight are you running the slipper? I run the basket with HD pads, about 1 and 1/2 theads showing. I had 2 1/2 and stripped the idle gear in the rear
5. I am currently running clicker locked, 20t rear belt gear, and slipper basket with a novak 5.5 hv and mmp. any suggestions for anything I should change? I have read that some run the 19t rear gear. This is easy to change at the track, I suggest you try both to see what feels better to you.
6. Any recommended settings for the MMP? N/A- I run an LRP
7. You guys still liking the 5K rear and 20k front diff fluids? Running 50k front and 5k rear. Still testing, moving to the 30k 7k this week.

I think we all run slighty different set ups and some are on clay and other are running on loamy tracks. I am running on clay so this is just my 2 cents.

If you have time to race, you have time to read like we all had to. Sorry, I have little sympathy for this. We all had to read this, it was not handed to us in bullet points. (actually, it has been listed in bullet points about 20 times from people like you asking this way)
