Here's my "For Sale" thread,,,, lotsa install pictures and info. http://www.rctech.net/forum/r-c-item...ch-basket.html
when will those ackerman bars be ready to buy?
I haven't ran my truck in a while, kinda shelved it after having so many belt issues.
Are people running chassis supports?
I left off when people were starting to run saddle packs with success. Now that the weather is cooler it makes it a lot easier to race here.

So let me ask why the flaming of Billy? Did coke not do cherry coke cause pepsi had cherry pepsi? How bout tires , proline suburbs look alot like Jconcepts barcodes . Even you mantis your two stage pistons are the exact same as the rpm two stage that have been out for years. But still Billy gets flamed. Do we not live in a capitalistic society?I have been self employed for 18 years and seen the good and bad of business. Yes it sucks to have (ideas, thoughts, and or jobs) quote, unquote TAKEN. But my opinion is this is business 101 , who can make the best product, for the best price , and give the best service.
have you ever seen the RPM pistons? they are nothing like mine and they only made one size which fits nothing in this era of RC. matl is different and design is not even close. Billy's products are EXACT clones of other mfg designs, its a simple as that. it would be different if he came up with something of his own idea and intention. As it stands now it just seems like they wait for something new to come out and then copy it. That may not be the intention but so far the brace and basket are clones. If my pistons were molded plastic, red, green and purple and made to only fit a first gen RC10 tub buggy or slash then you would have a point, but you dont

Let me add that i dont know him or ever talked to him and he is probably a great guy, i only know what i see.

.Come to think of it, just save Billy the trouble and email him the CAD file. [/sarcasm].
Screw that, just build some and ship it. That way your customers can test it out for you and tell you what a bad job you did, OR if it does test okay just speed up the product cycle so some other random dude can knock it off since you did the R&D for him

Here is my RX8 Setup.
Timing advance: 10 (equivalent of 3 degrees of timing on 'other brand' esc's)
Timing range: Default (approx 5k to 20k)
Throttle profile: 3
Drag brake: 0
Brake strength: 60 is the most I've ever needed. I dial it back according to the track surface so that I'm just shy of locking the tires up. 50 is a safe all around number, but gearing will also affect this.
Throttle minimum: 10
Brake minimum: 10
Reverse strength: 20 (just enough to roll backwards if I need to during practice)
This is all geared at either 15 or 16 teeth on the pinion with the 62 tooth spur for my local tracks. Temp your motor after 3 and 5 minutes and gear accordingly, but I come off between 140 and 180 depending on the track.
lmk if I missed any... lol

The truck pulled a couple wheelies down the front straight and was notably faster than another SC10 with a Tekin 4.5 550 motor geared the same using a MMP esc. It flat out smoked a second SC10 running a Castle 3800 4 pole and MMP esc out of the corners and out ran it down the straight which surprised me, same gearing again.
While finishing the truck (even before running it) I was second guessing not getting a 4600kv motor initially, but the RX8 and 4000kv Pro4 combination has surpassed my expectations. I just have to learn how to control my throttle finger.

Thanks for your help on motor/gearing and ESC settings!

Another wrinkle in the story. Fast lap Proucts has DONATED $150 to the LHS point series to be distributed to the last place drivers in each class who raced every race. His idea giving back to the racer who is challenged. Also donated money for the LHS Toys for Tot race.Have any of you flamers stepped up?
