You need to use the shims the head needs to be past the assembly also watch how you install the servo arm adapter needs to be a certain way.

What shimms? The 2 hole ones? what about the adaptor? I put a shock washer between the adaptor and thearm but still seems real close to the servo

There is V3 transmission parts now and V2 hubs, axles etc thsat you dont have. If the buggy is basically new then you should be able to get more for it! Trust me when I say you'll be happier this way. To get the parts you need just to convert you are looking at close to $300+. If you can sell your nitro buggy I think you'll put less than that towards the Ebuggy and have all the updated goodies!

Finished the new car today. Currently, it weighs, race ready, 3578 g, or 7.89 lbs. This is with a Tekin T8 1400 motor, RX8 esc, one Hyperion 3300 3S softcase lipo on the ESC side, and one Hyperion 3300 2S lipos softcase lipo on the motor side. Checking the car balance sans batteries showed me that the motor side of the car was a bit heavier, so I put the lighter lipo on that side. Running HB pink megabites ground down to slicks for indoor. Since metal spur gears suck and are unecessary in e-scale, I installed a Kyosho 46T plastic composite spur gear. Otherwise, all stock hardware. Sometime this week, once my parts order arrives from DeSoto, I'll install titanium upper shock mounts and tie rods, and lightweight hubs/nuts, and steering posts to drop the weight a bit more.

I've run 7 cycles thru on my first time out at the track and the car was great. The batteries, also great! I was averaging 245mah/min running hard and braking hard. While I was only doing 10min runs to get mileage the math works out as 245/5300=21.6min Thats more than enough for E buggy mains. Even with a bad mileage run of 280 and following the 80/20 run down rule I still got 15min in the bag.

The car is quick with the 1900. I was thinking about dropping the pinion down 1 tooth.

I have been soo tempted to go to Plastic too for lower weight and rotating mass. But about every time I say "I'm going to order that this monday", some guy strips a plastic gear at the track. This has happened to me at least 6 times over the last 1 1/2 yrs. I'm glad they put the metal, set it and forget it. Especially with that big plastic cover on the 811E you can't easily check to see if your mesh is good.

Need more pics of built 811 BE's
I'm with you Jason, set and forget. The noise is a little annoying when a steel on steel mesh isn't perfect but once its right, its one part of the driveline you dont need to worry about.

I used to have some noise issues but this year Ive been using the card stock thickness method and its been alot quieter and my pinons have been lasting twice as long. Card stock is the thick paper on packaging of many plastic packaging you see r/c parts in, I also have used the same card stock from std. business cards to get the mesh just right.
