I wass thinking about doing the same thing, but adding the weight to the center chassis, and running a pair of 1s pan style batteries in series, like jamie did in the 4x4 saddle pack thread.

Default saddle packs

If the goal of saddle packs is to balance the truck, and people are adding weight to make the truck more stable, why not just add weight to the original stick configuration till you are balanced at the desired weight.

You got a point!

Maybe adding the ballasts in one side instead of splitting them on both solves the need to use saddle packs.

That's what I did, and the truck is well balanced and planted.

I use stick packs and added weight to ballance the chassis. I have not been able to use a set of scales yet to change the front to back ballance but the left to right is good.

So I ran into a few really fast scts at the track, they all sounded like 1/8 scale on 3-4S. I didn't go peek on their setup but assuming 3s sounds much louder when compared to 2s. correct assumption? (or am I making an azz? )

Depends on how much your battery weighs.

Why would that matter? I'm asking for total weight.

Guys when tuning this truck WAIT until you can buy the jconcepts Hazard wheels( +3mm offset) it REALLY plants the truck.
or run blitz offset wheels they add +2mm per side and lowered my lap times .5-.7
