all this talk with slipper pads got me thinking....so I went to check out my pads and sure enough they are a bit glased over. I changed both out to the HT pads and cranked down the spring. I wasnt having any issue before so we will see how it does now. I also switched from a 16 pinion to a 14 pinion.

I have to say, try fitting the cover on first. I did not have to modify mine at all and I have no rub. I thought at first that I had installed it wrong, so I took it all back apart and re-did everything and same result.

I have heard of people using a heat gun and a motor can. Heat up the plastic cove and then push it down against the end of the motor can.

It sounds like its not put together correctly. Maybe buy a new spring, you shouldn't need to have it all the way tight. Mine is like 2 turns tighter than what the book shows and will wheely sometimes on indoor clay with the 3800 4pole. Maybe you have a old kit with thin washers.
My local track is a combination of dirt, some parts loose some parts hard packed and it also has sections with astro turf. So the driving surface varies around the track. I do also run the Castle 3800. I have not been anywhere near to do a wheely on the astro turf (high bite)...

Arigato, Buddy of mine did ours. He used a vise and 2 sockets, First socket he used was about the size of the basket. Placed on the inside and a larger one on the other side. closed up the vise and made a perfect stretch and indent. Looks great, take a look

I replaced the o-rings with the track star ones. Just take the shock cartridge cap off the cartridge body and pull the tube out and the o-rings will be right there.
