If you bought the kit or rtr check the diff fluid chances are they are bone dry or half way empty.

Thinking about getting my first saddle lipo. Track Power 5400 60c. I would like some feed back on the quality of track power and if it's good for my rx8 / pro 4. For the guys with this truck and that lipo. Thanks merry xmas

I'm probably just going to drain them anyways and put 5000 front and rear.

I need to put thread lock on the shock screws. Would it be a good idea to try to do that with the oil still in them? I'm thinking that's probably not wise. In that case I will chuck the stock oil and do 30/25 for a base setup.

When you say shock screws are you talking about the small screw inside the shock? Don't really want to dismantle mines.

(Yes, that screw)

'eh...

Then you're going to deal with the repercussions of being lazy.

(if it's the RTR, you'll probably be okay)

Yeah, the little ones holding the piston onto the the shock shaft. I've read of a few guys not doing it and having the screw let go, led to bent shafts and other broken parts.

Mine had 2 of the 4 loose.

Thought I'd post up some race results, all SC104's and 1 losi. Only one SC104 w/ garodiscs and 2 stage pistons though. I've given them all fair warning, they know what parts I use, they still don't see the light. Even after months of whoopn's. Some people will never learn..... Closest dude to me is a full 17 seconds back.... Once the RCSHOX center diff comes in, I'll put another lap on them...

I got the RTR today. Do you think AE started putting thread lock on them with the RTRs? Just curious why you said that.

yea I wish I had blue locktited mine , my shock came apart while practicng before my main. I was able to throw back together in like 2 min and in enough time to start the main.

take the time to do it or you'll do it later.

AE listens. (even if it takes 6 months) Hundreds of people had their shocks fall apart.

The RTR: (75% will have bought for fun trucks, not race trucks. Kits are bought by racers: Generic Statement) - Will have taken some of that kit problem into account to make it easier for people who AE knows just wants it to 'work'. /LHSEmployee

So you really think I'm safe to not thread lock the shocks? I'd love not to have to do that...

What about the diffs? Think the RTRs will be dry too?

Because those diffs were filled and placed into the truck from a bin that was "recently" handled. I would say no, You shouldn't need to. It's only like 3/5k diff oil, not sure but it's going to work for now.

It's kind of your guys' call on the shocks. Unless Chris gives us a real AE word.

I just installed a new Tekin RX8, and the fan was working, so I then plugged in the Hotwire, to check out all the adjustments on the PC, then when I plugged the battery in and turned on the ESC, I noticed the fan is not working now. Everything is brand new. What could cause the fan not to work? Or is it supposed to only come on when the ESC reach a certain temp.?

Also for the chassis brace, are you guys using carbon fiber tubing or aluminum? also how exactly are the rod ends connected to the brace? is there a set screw inside the rod end and into the tubing? What size parts are you guys using?

Thanks
