SC10 4x4 Thread

!Wish the forum had a way to deter such a thing as it does throw things out of whack
..Well lets bump this alwful page to a normal, new "clean sheet" page
..Will post some vids of me getting pounded with some new guys at my track..My buddy in his ofna took me out three effing times..I got past him clean and ended up taking third in a tight and smooth track..Dont usually run there so I was also pulling some "rookie" moves myself..The guy that took the win in that 4wd A-main race was running a Sc10 4wd but all setup correctly and tuned for that track..My truck is setup for, and usually run on a big outdoor loose and loamy clay track..He put three laps on me and the field
..It was fun though!!Lets bump this page to the next!!Thankfully, it seems like I bumped into the next page instead..lmao
Here is the race(not my finest moment):http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5EX6LfGynFA

Hi Everyone,
I've been racing a Durango DESC410r and still love it to death but I went out and got a sc10 4x4 to do some reviews and comparisons.....I was bored and when I was at the showdown up at trackside I noticed Brian Kinwald was running saddle packs so I went ahead and installed them in my ride....here are a few photos....if anyone knows what front springs Kinwald was using that would be a big help.
I just used the stuff from my B44.1....I may even add more holes so I can shift the batteries toward the rear more......also if you notice I'm using screws under neath the belt is because I dont plan to remove the battery strap...I'll just remove the other side and then slide the pack under the belt over and pop it out....I tested it and it works great.
Take it easy,
Jason
P.S. Pretty soon I'll have full reviews and shoot out results between the Losi Ten SCTE , SC10 4x4, Durango DESC410r, Hyper 10sc bump, and Jammin SCRT10......look for it soon on ShortCourseWorld dot com

Does anyone know ( looking back at the large pictures ) if that is an aftermarket Saddle Pack bracket/Holder? It looks like there is a carbon fiber tray towards the bottom to hold the saddles in place?
It was a very clean install, I'd like to try that.

Go read it again. He said it was B44 parts.

For those that are looking to modify their gear cover for Mac The Knife's clutch basket, I posted my way of doing it with a caulking gun on his thread here - http://www.rctech.net/forum/9392323-post57.html

Its great to see the level of tunability with this truck. In a years time I think there will be a deadly setup for this truck. I still keep playing around with my setup and find little changes make big differences.

I know going back and reading all 300+ pages of this thread would probably answer just about any question but could someone post a summary of what needs to be done to this truck? saddle battery tray, slipper basket, sway bars, 10,000 oil, etc. I just really am looking for what I need to order with the truck.
To me there are only three choices to go race a 4wd the Durango, Losi, and Associated. Weighing all the pros and cons the AE won. (for me that is)

Besides the stuff AE tells you that you need, get:
HT slipper pads
Some people say Sways are necessary....some tracks they might be, but not all...
Several different weights of shock oil and diff oil
Better tires
Oh, and a 1/4 inch washer to stick between the slipper spring and outer slipper plate so that you can fully compress the spring.
Also, get a hand-held powered screwdriver with the proper metric hex heads (don't use a 5/64" in place of a 2mm driver....it's really close, but not quite the same thing) the power screwdriver will save your wrist from repetitive stress...the truck is a bit stiff to get the screws into the plastic when it is new....
That's all I've needed...
