I'm going to run this weekend at West Coast and see how the car is different.
This is why I went and ordered the BCE E-line chassis. I don't like how the ESC hangs over like that.

I'm considering going back to the kit's stock steering rack, any help is appreciated...

5. Anyone running aluminum center bulkhead? For some reason I really want to see my center diff completely enclosed in aluminum rather than plastic on one side, but I can only seem to find an Integy aluminum bulkhead and I've heard that Integy is crap, any thoughts?

Thanks!
check out this video on youtube it may help with your bumpsteer problem if nothing else it shows more how the steering works "RC Setup Guide; Ackerman & steering Vid 3 of 21"

I'm running the bulkhead from Bizzarre Hobbies for the RC8

Default breaking into off road

Just breaking into off road racing and picked up the rc8be. Assembly was simple and straight forward. Can't wait to turn a few laps and learn to drive.

Not requesting info or advice yet but am sure I will soon.

It's funny you say that because it just so happens my front left dogbone is bent and catching during rotation.

I have a new one on order and I'm planning to do a maintenance tear down to service the diffs & the whole 9. I'm attempting to sell my RX8 1900kv combo, but I think I was priced too high, so it's up for $270.00 now. I figured I'd change out my system with a castle since I'm doing the teardown.

Thanks for the advice....

Btw, in this tear down I'm going to do something. I'm going to clean the A-Arms with pipe cleaners, but I also want to widen the hole ever so slightly. Does anyone know the diameter of the A-arms and which bit would be next step up to accomplish this? I know.. it's a bit of an odd question, but I've seen this done and it works beautifully to prevent future binding in the suspension.

Nothing like "new parts" a year after the fact......and when they come out....the big dogs are already running new "new parts".

The black shock towers are softer than the blue...and bend easily....get spares.

haha, thanks. I knew it was out there somewhere .

I think Drunk might be right... a 4mm Hudy Reamer might really do the trick.

You are correct because the team guys are testing different Shock Towers and setup already. Nothing like spending your hard earned cash just to find out something newer and better is in the works.... But that is just how this hobby goes... The real quesiton is will it help me win races?

I've been casually in and out of this hobby for the past 20 years (more hardcore as of recent) and I can tell you this about hop-ups and upgrades:

It is in my honest opinion hop ups and new parts are mostly a marketing scheme to sell you on something you don't need, they are sometimes of less quality, and usually obsolete within 6 months to a year.

I purchase my hop-ups based on durability rather than peformance. No part is ever made that will completely inhibit the performance factor of the car. Sure, it might be heavier, might be a little bulkier, but it won't be a serious inhibitor on the car's overall performance. 80% of racing is the driver, 20% the car & it's set up.

And when I purchase a hop-up or a new part I only do it when the existing one has broken and there is a stronger, better alternative, or of something equal durability but adds a different factor to the car's performance.

Why do you think they are coming out with "new parts" all the time? To keep that revenue coming .

Good point! For me though I must have the latest and greatest or otherwise I'd lose interest. Out with the old, in with the new.
