I run the tekin rx8 with the tekin 4.5. The only thing i have done is ditched the radio tray due to the fact if you use that mount you will need to get an extension line for your servo to reach the receiver. There are only a few servos that come with a long enough wire to reach. I have run about 8 packs through my truck so far. I have crashed pretty hard a few times and nothing has broken yet.

I've been running a Fantom 4.5 - 550 motor on a GTB speed control. Yesterday was over 80 outside and after a 7 min. main and the rest of the pack of practice the motor was 160 and the ESC was 110. I've been really happy with this setup. Smooth and dependable. I'm running a 14/ whatever the stock 32p spur if and its and fast as electric 8th scale on the straights.
Managed to win the A and ran the fastest time of any short course by over a half a second per lap. I put the AE sway bars on the front and rear and the truck was definately more consistant. Really settled the rear end down.
I ended up using 2mm in front and 1.5 mm in the rear.
Can't wat for the next race.

ran my first pack today very impressive truck,handles much better than my slash4x4 did when it was stock. running a tenshock motor,it kicks butt!!! with only a 2c i was happy with the performance...thanks to mike at ckhobbies for the help with the power for this truck...

Need some advice on how to get the ballstud pushed through linkages.
Its feels as if I would break the linkage if I tried to force it on to the ball stud.
I was able to get the ballstud over the servo horn stud, but it took alot of pressure (bearing down very hard pushing down on it resting on a table)
Any tips/tricks to this?

Some people have found that adding an additional slipper pad helps alot. Check out this clutch basket. http://gearrings.weebly.com/rc-racing-stuff.html
I think either my 2wd SC10 is sabotaging me, or my 4x and I are fighting. By the end of the first run, I could feel the 4x slipper was slipping again, even though I took some drastic measures on it to keep it from happening. Retightened, went to try it again, and the servo (1015) made nothing but death twitches. Tried it in 2 other trucks, it was dead for sure. Ran some packs thru the old faithful 2wd instead, since I didn't want to mess with switching out the servo at the track.
I'd rather do it at home with a Pacifico and the AC on... Back to the ol' drawing board...

Ran mine with 2mm bars front/rear (had to make my own rear bar, could only get the front and a hardware set). This for me is one "band-aid" that I'm definitely going to leave on. Zero tendency to traction roll. Made a big jump in front diff fluid (50K) too thick for me on an indoor track, I'll try 20k next..

Okay, I'm not a great racer. I'm just another club racer.
But I've finally stopped saying: I shoulda bought a Losi.
Had 3 somewhat frustrating qualifiers where I'd get a decent launch and pick up a spot or two, only to dork it by the third turn and fall dead straight back.
Not the trucks fault.
Qualified second for the B (there were only two mains, so don't be impressed) and again got a great start, but skipped the third turn dork. I then let the following pack race each other.
Pulled up on the second and third place trucks (one ASC, one Losi) and just parked it behind them. Safe thing to do. Kind of fun on the stand, poking them along to race each other.
Myself and the other SC4x got the bump, the other Losi driver made one too many mistakes (Sorry Larry, you're driving better though).
Unfortunately, yet fortunately for me, I finished 6th in the A, though I did finish ahead of the other bump driver.
Observations:
1. I have learned that you cannot go a whole race program without deglazing your slipper pads, Hitorque or not.
2. Three other SC4Xs were running sways, but still had excessive body roll that I didn't. the difference? Farmer John's set up band aids included lowering his roll centers.
Even as slow as I am, I could still pretty much put my truck wherever I needed to. Then my slippers glazed and I found very smooth throttle inputs were necessary for success.

Yea the 1415 motor is awesome! I am running a 19 tooth pinion and i want to go bigger but room is the promblem. If you dont mind telling me, where did you sand the chassis to accommodate for the big motor can?

RX8 has to be mounted lengthwise... I would have preferred to be able to mount it sideways.... but other than that, It's good. I run the RX8 and the SC4x 5.5.
I really have to say I'm floored by this combo in this truck... I started of with 12/62 and the motor was barely hitting 110. Moved to 14/62 and was at 125-135 after a 5 minute heat..... moved to 16/62 today.... temps outside were 77 and humid... still couldn't push the motor past 145 in all 4 runs. This is all the top end I will need on a vary large 1/8th track with several long straights, plus it still has enough bottom end punch to get me out of trouble if I misjudge part of the rythem section....just gotta roll one bump and I'm right back in it....
