SC10 4x4 Thread

So I am looking at getting one of these. Everyone at my local track has the Losi, and I want to be different. Has anyone noticed and major wear items yet, and what has a tendency to break first? Also has anyone had a hard time getting a 550 motor to fit in the truck? Also would their be enough room on the electronics tray to make a RX8 fit without any problem? Thanks for the input!!

TQ and A-main win the first night out. Turned almost a full lap more than the Jammin' SCRT I was running before. Still a bit more oversteer than I'd like but we'll get there. I'm gonna try spacing up the rear inner ball stud abot 2mm and see what happens. Anybody run the front clicker loose enough that it actually "clicks". What is it suppose to be doing?

I tried a 2mm spacer under my rear ballstud this past weekend and it did plant my rear a little bit more. I already had my truck pretty good so I took it out, if you're looking for a bit more rear traction then it should be the ticket for you. When the clicker is loose enough to "click" it lets the front wheels freewheel like a oneway bearing for the front end. It will give you more steering but takes away your ability to have 4 wheel braking (more likely to spin out under brakes)
My next changes will be installing the front overdrive pulley and 2mm under the rear inner ball stud. I don't think I'm a smooth enough driver for the overdrive pulley but you never know until you try.

I think either my 2wd SC10 is sabotaging me, or my 4x and I are fighting. By the end of the first run, I could feel the 4x slipper was slipping again, even though I took some drastic measures on it to keep it from happening. Retightened, went to try it again, and the servo (1015) made nothing but death twitches. Tried it in 2 other trucks, it was dead for sure. Ran some packs thru the old faithful 2wd instead, since I didn't want to mess with switching out the servo at the track.
I'd rather do it at home with a Pacifico and the AC on... Back to the ol' drawing board...

Ok, it just sounded like so many people were cranking them up so tight that they wouldn't be doing much, or else having issues with too much slip.

over heating motor and blown esc = upgrade time

does anyone have any experience / recommendations with any of these motors:
-LRP X12L
-Tekin Redline SC4X
-Novak Ballistic 550 "Short Course"
-EPIC Monster Horsepower 550 "PRO-4"
all are advertised as the best, ultimate, but are similar in spec...
i run an epic monster 8.5t in by b4.1 and have had an exceptionally good run from it, but for the same price doesn't appear at face value to have the same tech that the others do... interested to hear everyones thoughts...

I run the tekin rx8 with the tekin 4.5. The only thing i have done is ditched the radio tray due to the fact if you use that mount you will need to get an extension line for your servo to reach the receiver. There are only a few servos that come with a long enough wire to reach. I have run about 8 packs through my truck so far. I have crashed pretty hard a few times and nothing has broken yet.
