I have a SNR chassis and like it alot. I like how the car reacts due to the stiffness and being lighter.

Any of the top brand 8th scale buggies will have their little issues but as a whole will be good quality, durable and its very hard to beat 8th scale in the performance department. At least in the racing world lol.
So that sounds like RC8be(comes with tires?) or Ve8(does HPI make the Ve8 or is it Chinese/no tires?)then? Ve8 is $100 less than the RC8be. Huge difference in quality/durability/performance between the two? What's up with the Mugen or XRAY? HPI isn't made in China?

Default Be

Hey guys.. I'm kind of leaning towards the RC8Be. I like that the SOME of the kit is assembled(shocks/diffs) and it's not made in China! Anyway.. What is a VERY GOOD motor/esc combo? Mamba/Neu? Here's the funny thing.. The Vorza has a "copy" of the Mamba/Neu for $50 less, but it's the same motor/esc from what I hear. Or is this not a good combo for this buggy? I'd like something that can accept 6S if I want to fool around with that. I have 3 6S 45C TP 2700mah that I use in my Trex 500 I'd like to use occassionally. Or is that pointless and just get 4S?

^^what are you looking to do? I personally ran the MMM 2650kv and 2200kv in all my 8th scales, until the rc8, where I got a tekin 1900kv RX8..and now..Im in love with it! SOOO much smoother and controlable power! And I've had a mmm esc fail on me, this hasnt yet. If your just bashing, and on a budget, theres nothing wrong with the MMM combo (make sure you get 2200 if your using 6s)...if you do have the money though, I'd get the tekin combo

Yea.. I'm not too keen on Castle. I only fly Kontroniks in my Heli's. Just don't know anything about Buggies.Where's Tekin made? Can the 1900kv handle 6S?

Check the signature....

If you're racing this --- That's an ideal set up.

If you want to bash --- Go with a 2250kv w/ the RX8

Also make sure you get the hotwire so you can set your ESC with your laptop.

Have 17t, 18t, 19t, 20t, 21t, and 22t in your arsenal for pinions.

If you're going with a 1900kv, have a 17, 18, 19, 20 handy

If you're going 2250kv, I'd sugest even going from 15 - 22 handy (just so you can be set for all kinds of different surfaces.)

Do a thread search for SNR chassis. There is already quite a bit of info on this topic. I posted some pics and gave a few reviews of the chassis. It has been the longest lasting chassis I've had for the buggy. Also makes the car handle very well.

This was with the stock length chassis. The +3mm chassis should be money.

Racers use 1900kv 6S!? Why 2250kv for "bashing"? I will primarily drive on grass/dirt and pavement. How big of a 6S will the compartment comfortably hold?

Dude, no.. 4s. What the hell do you need a 6s for?

And I said 2250kv for bashing because it's hardly controllable on a track (unless you dial it back on the ESC or gear down significantly).

Ahh ok.. So a race like this is maybe 1900kv 4S?

i found the 2250 fine geared 17/46 on 4s on the track, it's all about throttle control. that said 1900 geared 19/46 is a better ride IMO.
