Yeah I still need the mamba set up and 4's lipos. I won't be out for another month. But I run with 2 other buddies there also with 8th scales, one has a losi 2.0 with rx8 1900, the other is a xt2E with mamba monster 2200. But I'll see ya out there or you'll see me I just painted my body, it looks like a raiders helmet.

Does any one have any links to a setup with the updated parts being used?

I just picked up a brand new RC8Be, I also picked up the update suspension kit (new towers, machined arms etc) and the new sway bars. I dont have the new B plate or the chassis yet, but will be coming soon.

I was running a converted D8 using the HPI Vorza parts. I wasnt happy with that cars flying characteristics so Im excited to give the RC8Be a go.

I will be running a Hobbywing ESC and 2250kv motor combo. This system has proven its self to be a powerhouse so far and I think will be a great fit with the RC8Be.

Any build tips you guys can offer would be much appreciated also.

Hey guys..having a wierd problem,

My front right wheel nut keeps coming off (After tightening it all the way)...and ONLY that wheel! I wouldnt like to use loctite, as it's a pain getting it back off again..specially if im in a pinch. Any ideas? the car only has like less then 10 runs on it, and no damage/scrapes/wear in that area what so ever..

Thanks!

about the new front tower....

several pages back i was having problems with steering. it was recommended that i lay the front shocks in up top. i did that (went to the 2nd or 3rd hole-cant remember) and it was a huge improvement. this new tower has the shocks spaced waaaaay out. im very hesitant to try them because im afraid ill loose the steering i have. am i missing something?

trust me, many have been waiting months for AE to post new set-ups on their website. Unbelievably the RC8BE has only 1 set-up sheet from 2010?!? At the very least Maifield's ROAR win at NorCal Hobbies out in the SF Bay Area should be posted! Its not like Nitro Racers have been favored either, they haven't had any new set-ups for months as well... Someone is just dropping the ball (BIG TIME) on this for all of us AE customers

I had a similar issue and fixed it by putting notches on the back side of the nut with a dremel. but... I'm a cheap skate

Default New to RC Buggies/Which one?

Ok guys.. After looking at some different threads.. I've kind of narrowed it down to a few options. I'd like a off road electric and just want to here some of your inputs. Again.. I don't mind putting together my own kit and picking ESC/Motor etc. So here's what I came up with:

- Vorza(lots of aftermarket parts that come from nitro D8? correct?)
-Ve8
- RC8be
- Losi 8EIGHT
- SC10 4x4
- Losi 10 SCTE

So.. I've listed a few options.. There's a few I'm sure I didn't list.. Ofna and Jammin etc.. A few are 1/8 buggies and a couple are 1/10 truck. I'm not opposed to the trucks because they look cool. Are the trucks just as versital with jumping/different terrain? Primarily will be recreational. No racing "yet". I fly electric Heli so I'm familiar with Lipos/ESC's etc. Is it less headache to go with a RTR like the Vorza or to build a kit? I realize RTR's are built in a factory.. So parts might be missing/not built correctly/loctite not applied or applied too much or where it shouldn't be etc. Primarily looking for something with high quality, durability and performance. Thoughts?"

Personally I dont really like any of the RTR 1/8th scale buggies out side of the race roller Losi 8 2.0, but everyone I know complains about how quickly all the parts on it wear out lol.

The buggies will handle different terrain and jumping a good bit better then the short course trucks, not trying to take anything away from them as they are great trucks, the 1/8th scale buggies are just better vehicles.

Any of the top brand 8th scale buggies will have their little issues but as a whole will be good quality, durable and its very hard to beat 8th scale in the performance department. At least in the racing world lol.

Nice! I should be out there this Friday...barring another 3 car pile up on 91! I'll be running the sc 4x4 class...I just started rebuilding my RC8be & I'm waiting for a new body from the painter. As for electronics I've been running a castle mmp with a castle 2200 with turnigy 5000 4s packs and have had great luck with that combo. I sure hope there will be a football season this year!!??!!
