Novak normally sets there motors for "30" degrees. But, I found when using their ballistic motors, going below "15" degrees, the motor starts to cog. So, I actually think their 30 might be closer to 15to20deg.

When I ran my WGT car yesterday, I had problems with my car being really slow, so I moved the timing ring to the fully reduced timing setting, and the car really picked up pace.

Thanks shawn. That's what I thought. I'm running a turbo esc & my SS motors seem to like the timing in the middle.

So, I have been working with a CRC WGT car over the last couple of weeks, and I have been trying to figure out some speed. This following setup is not perfect, but its REALLY close. Very similar to my indoor setup, but I have a 13.5 motor, changed rollout, and bring the timing in at a higher rpm.

will probably order one of these later, silly question but how do you connect them up? does the black simply go to the negative battery lead and the red to the positive? the instructions are poo!

Yep absolutely correct, red to pos black to neg on ESC, don't do it to the wires do it direct to the solder tabs on the ESC to reduce resistance, best idea is if you have the room get the 4 part upgrade caps they just give more brakes, power and just feel much better.

Hope it helps

That's a very good question the power caps are very important but there is no where on the instructions to say where to solder them on. I know most rc apt people would have an idea. But a novice could do some proper damage, and I think should be added even a separate slip off paper with instruction's how to connect the power caps on would be better than guessing.

Here's a copy of a "what USB link software gives what ESC software" file I've just made up. Useful as a quick reference!

can i install software ver 1.508_No timming on a Extreme Stock 60A ESC without damaging it?

Will the ESC display a "blinky" light to show it is is Stock mode (no timing or boost)?

Default 12th scale + 120a 1S + 4.5t

I just put a new 120a 1S HW ESC into my 12th scale pan car and attached it to a Speed Passion 4.5 (v3).

Do I need to update the ESC before I run it, or will it be okay for the mod motor right away?
