Has there been an update as to when the upgraded components will be in stock? Mid June?

My RX8 was sixteen months old when a power cap popped so I had to pay like eighty bucks for them to replace it with a new three hole RX8. I was getting ready for a big race at the time and bought a RX8 for the race while I was waiting to get the new RX8 from Tekin so now I have a back-up speedo, which makes me sleep better at night before a big race. These eighth scale buggies are so hard on electronics that it's probably a good idea to have two of everything anyways...

I had a new RX8 ,that was correctly wired , ignite in my lounge room 3 weeks ago.I had
Just plugged the battery to it and flicked the switch. A spark as big , and as bright as a welder came out of where the sensor wire is pluged in. It flared for about 4 seconds until the deans plug melted off he negative wire. The solder for the negative wire to the speedie also melted. The smell in the house was so bad for weeks. I sent it up to tekin , with photos of it still connected to the new RC8be, and what was left of the wires. They said it was under warranty and have upgraded the power board, control board, and a new case. I can expect it this week. They havn't told me what caused it which is quite concerning because if this thing happened again unattended, could have easily started a fire. I will try to find out from them., and keep you posted.
I can only praise Tekin for their after sales service they have provided to me. I am sure these things don't happen very often.

Need some quick help I have a RC8Be coming and want to place a order for some parts I will be running a RX8 with a T8 2000kv Truggy motor need to know what set of pinions i should get 15,16,17 or 18,19,20 Mod 1 right ? Thanks

The kit comes with a 15. I bought the 18,19and 20 pack snce im running the 1900kv motor. I've been using the 19 for the track I go to and it had plenty of zip and motor temp are about 118 after a 10 minute main. I got the Novak short shanks just in case I decide to go with an aftermarket motor mount since the long shanks won't work with them. They are mod 1.

I also got the 18,19,20 pack for running a 1900kv. The 20t is what Im currently running and am considering a 21t. I dont know what my motor temps are but I can touch it after a run so it cant be more that 140-150F. My speedo fan also bit the dust so Ive been running without it too. No problems yet knock on wood.

Do you think since motor is so big that turning down the full power on castle link from 100% to 80% percent or so might be a good idea?

In all situation, if you find that the gearing of a particular motor gives you more speed than what you can use, take it down either by increasing the spur or lowering the pinion ratio. That will allow the motor to operate at its peak efficiency.

So I should leave it at a hundred percent? Do you think a 15 tooth pinion would be under geared? Wouldnt turning it down from a 100% to 80% be easier on the motor?
