I also run a 1900 with 46/18 and it's pretty good. I'd like to try a 19, but I like to practice alot while running my battery to cutoff sometimes, and with an 18 my temps are nearing 145-150. I dont feel to comfortable going beyond that.

i just got an rc8 and put a mamba monsster 2650 system in it i am geared 17/46 its very fast and i like the speed but the tires are looking like balloons when i get it to full throttle i am racing on a dusty loose outdoor track tomorrow and wondered if i should go smaller on the pinion or if this is something i should just adjust by throttle on radio also i am running 5000 front 7000 center and 5000 rear on the diffs. i am very new to 1/8th scale and would take any tips i can get thanks in advance.

If you undergear the motor, you're going to overheat it. It must be a HUGE track to use the 2650kV motor!!
The ballooning is normal at that kind of speed unless you use belted tires or tape the tires yourself.

Agreed, 2650 is a huge motor, lots of top end. 1900 is a good motor to run on almost any track. More torque and easier to handle. You can try to gear it down to a 15 see how it goes. Watch the temps though.

on 4s and temps stay around 150' to 160'.. I had to mess with the castle links toque settings to calm it down a little, and the punch control on the radio. Hope this helps..have fun

Had a crazy day at the track today. Got off work early to have plenty of practice time at the track and play around with the setup. Well midway through my second pack after landing a jump, I get no response from the throttle. Grab the car back to the pit, check the temp on engine per normal, all appears fine at 130F. So I hit the throttle lightly to see if something is binding up and boom my ESC pops and catches fire...scares the hell out of me as I was leaning over the buggy at the time... Upon second inspection, one of the ESC pins blew out and the most damage is around that pin. I am dumbfounded and can only assume that there was a problem with the ESC board or that the rotor in the motor slipped (I'll look into that one when I calm down enough to do a full post Morten)... It was a RX8/1900Kv that ran real nice up until now .Ugh!

I was at the nitro pit last night and maifield was out with his car..All I can say is wow. The thing was absolutely glued to the track. I know he is a good driver but it was crazy. Watching his car would make you want an rc8. I can't wait for the new worlds parts they looked great.

Ordered an RC8be abt 2 weeks ago, still waiting for delivery. Hopefullly get it this week. But since then, been seeing the Mugen MBx6e Eco and wondering if I made the right decision. I didnt do much research before hand as I trust AE as I have been very impressed with past kits. Also I wanted to build something and also parts availability was a major thing. Anyway I really liking the Mugen looks lik quality stuff. Hope the RC8be will be nice too.
