I've got a 3800 in my son's Slash. I plan to do the same thing. I am running the MMP in this truck.

BTW, anyone have a tip for keeping the slipper pads inline with the spur gear while you assemble the spur?

I'll reserve judgement until trying mine.

As for you, you'll have to really sort through the chatter and get the opinion from someone that:

1. Has extensive driving and tuning experience with the other 4x4 platforms.
2. Has enough wheeltime and wrenchtime with this one to know it's capabilities.
2. Has driving abilities within whatever potential you have.
3. Isn't an AE fanboy or sponsored by AE.

Anyone here that fits that description?

Either way, it's probably best for another thread. Losi vs. AE vs. Durango will send this thread to the shitter quick.

Same as 2wd... use gravity.

Tip car on side, shaft pointing down.
Set slipper pad on inner half of spur, Push up and into place...
While holding spur in place, flip car so shaft points up....
Set other slipper pad and plate on and tighten.

for the inner pad i always tilt the truck to the right and for the outer pad I tilt the truck to the left and then add the other slipper pad and then the rest of the assembly.......

Lol. Trust me. He can wheel and film just fine. I seen him do it plenty of times. He'll do a thorough review which will include him giving full attention to driving.

So far my build is going good.

1 thing I think associated could do is on the rear arms NOT include the mold over pour that stuff has held me up longer than anything else. Everything else is so precise and perfect. Wtg AE

Just got confirmation that my SC10 4x4 was shipped this morning, so excited! As this is my first venture into 4WD, what would you recommend for a motor? Will be using a MMP. Our local indoor track is small with tight turns (MHOR in Aurora, CO). I usually run a 13.5 in my 2WD SC10.

There is some resistance, but it sounds like it is your belt slipping if it isn't your clicker making the noise. I set the tension per the instructions, and don't have an issue with a 6.5t 540 MOTOR

It's 4 pieces of plastic tree that have to be snapped off. No need to make a big deal of it. FWIW I always cut them part way with a knife because I'm paranoid about them tearing a chunk out of the plastic when snapping off, but probably unnecessary.

so, the swaybars appear to be necessary, but, what conditions are people seeing that they need them? Anyone try the truck yet in a loamy setting?

Also, has anyone try other brands of swaybars to see what fits?

I agree, i wish they had included some swaybars, but nothing we can do about that now.
