LIKE A KID AT XMAS !!! mines on the way . Does anyone know if the servo wires for a Hitec servo are long enough ? Also does anyone know if i have trouble with my cc stc esc how i can return it for a MMP . Ive been told somewhere that castle will exchange it for $75.00 and your old SCT esc. Thanks ,Rick

i'd go with an MMP also. a group of us experienced over heating issues when using the 4 pole 3800kv motor and the included sidewinder when used in a slash 4x4. what we did was zip tie the included motor fan on the sidewinder ESC (worked for some), but your still running the risk of not finishing a main b/c it went into thermal shutdown

The "Man in Brown" just kicked down!
Off to build
I'm going to detail this build with photo's and a little write up of how the build went and of course my opinions of how it went together as well as any tips to help with the build.
I'll inform you guys when it's all posted up. (On www.trackstarrc.com)

Thanks for the info. I went ahead and bought the 5.5 I was worried about heating issues with the 4.5. I believe this will work just fine for the tracks I run on.

I'm looking at starting with his setup for a dirt track/blue groove/dusty.
Any other feedbacks on using 60k in the front for a dirt track...

To me the sc10 4x4 looks like a 4wd buggy on the track with the way it twitches and drives in general. Using a 10th scale 4wd buggy as a comparison, tightening the front diff would mellow the car way out and it would start to push the closer you get to a locked front diff. Sounds like he was trying to make it easier to drive entering the corners.

Just checked AE's site and noticed a new Setup sheet posted by Chris Jarosz for Palm Desert Raceway / Blue Groove Dusty track.
Thanks for posting Chris

Looks like his Diff setup is - 60k/5k

The thick front diff fluid mellows out the truck quite a bit on high speed sweeping turns as well as allows you to be able to run a "bar" type tire in the front, such as Suburbs, Barcodes, etc. With the 10K front diff oil, the Suburbs would be extremely fast through the infield but way too aggressive in sweepers. So much that if you turned the wheel just a bit too far that the truck would want to spin out or traction roll. After I changed the fluid I could drive the truck harder into the sweepers without fear of it rolling or spinning, and then to make up the steering in the infield I switched to the more aggressive Suburb tire instead of Holeshots.
Over all I think it was a great change and I am super happy with how my truck handled in qualifying as well as even the main event!

None of my LHS carry good servos like i want. I'm gonna order one today, but will take 3-4 days to get here. My question is how far on sc4x4 build can i get without the servo i want, or should i put a spare in for now until i get my good one in. I hear its not easy changing them out.
