Did you forget your coffee this morning? LOL chill bro, so we got off topic. It's all good! Like someone said earlier, I think we ran out of things to talk about!

Funny thing was last night when she came down into the basement I was sitting there surrounded by tires because the first thing I did was mount up the kit tires plus the others I ordered. I'm always screwing around with tires so she didnt suspect a thing.

Im not really hiding it from her though. I was just avoiding that akward moment that always happens when I come through the door with a big box of new toys. Its that time of the month when that was just better to avoid.

I too have my own money for toys. Its not much but its something and its mine so we dont fight over any of this stuff. I just didnt feel like even having a discussion about it since it was avoidable. She will see it soon enough Im sure....hopefully after I run it

As far as the center diff leaking it seems to me like the plastic spur is probably the problem. I didnt really like how it was dimpled on the gasket side and expect thats got something to do with it. I'm thinking about putting some rtv sealer on it.

sand the center diff like its shown on the video and go a bit further then just put it together and tighten everything evenly and carefully it will leak a bit at first then go away.
thats how mine was

Honestly, after sanding mine down they didn't leak anymore. Some extra sealent might work though.
It's funny, even though it's your own personal money we still don't throw it in their face. Let's face it they are women and nagging is in their nature!

Sand like in the video? Cant say Ive seen this video. Where do you find it?

Monsterbrad Ive let her drive before. She drove my brand new T-Maxx right from our doorstep into the neighbors house. I took the remote with me as I walked over to flip it back over and check the damage She has never shown any more interest and quite frankly I dont want her with me when I go racing anyway. RC racing is MY time. I took my son with me a few times and when he lost interest I realized I had dodged a bullet actually. Having to maintain a setup for me and him was going to seriously hurt my small budget and as much as I love my son I like having ME time when I go racing.

Slash_me_up you nailed it. I know me walking through the front door with my new toys is kinda like throwing it in her face a little. I know it shouldnt be but if I was her I would probably get a little jealous too. She doesnt have any real hobbies or toys so I do feel the slightest bit guilty when I come through the door with a new toy Im all excited about....even though I am perfectly justified in doing so

The videos MonsterBrad are refering to are on page 179. They are worth the watch! I found many many tips I will be using in the future as well as the sanding of the diffs.

So, I just got flim flammed by the Hobby Partz bait and switch on the Gen Ace 4s (I placed the order, got a shipping confirmation and then they emailed saying they never had them). Need to get some other 4s packs pronto. Don't mind paying within reason for quality... what other packs do you guys recommend?

If you don't need hard case. Just switch the order to their Blue Lipo.

First time post in the offroad thread so bare with me.

Considering picking up an RC8Be for our offroad season. Things to consider is I’ve never run an 1/8 offroad vehicle before but I do have intermediate onroad experience.

The RC8Be appears to have awesome reviews and parts are readily available at the LHS. Also, for local club racing, we can run it with the 1/8 nitro buggies (so I’m told) and also of course the 1/8 electric class if there is enough cars to make a class.

Other than the Factory Team Kit, what do you guys recommend to stock up for spare parts /servo / Motor (kv) ESC Combo + battery (2s or 4s and C’s and Mah’s) / extra tires + rims + inserts / body / must have upgrades to keep up with what those guys in nitro buggy run? I do have a radio and receiver (75mhz though). I do have a budget so please don’t go crazy here. Mind you in onroad, I rarely break anything.

Any advice or info is sincerely appreciated,

Ivan

I just bought one this week and the advice most gave me was to get a Tekin 1900kv combo and 4S lipos with at least 30C rating. I ordered 2 Turnigy 4S 35C 500mah packs, 18-20T pinions, and also a 3 inch servo extention needed to get the speedo plugged into the receiver. I dont have it together yet but I think thats everything Im going to need.

For spares I'd get some steering rod ends, front arms, and rear hubs. Those are the only items Ive broken running the nitro RC8 over 3 years.

The body comes with the kit and it also comes with M3 Holeshots which are good tires for hardpacked dirt with little to no dust. Soft AKA City Blocks are my go to tire that I always have with me. They work on just about any kind of surface.

The kit setup is very similar to what I used on my nitro buggy so I expect its pretty good. The only hopup I have on my RC8TCE is aluminum rear hubs but I dont think the E-buggy is going to need them so there are no hopups needed. Maybe get the 8x1.3 pistons thats about the only thing I can think of and theyre just a tuning option. I ran the 10x1.1 tapered pistons on my RC8B but didnt really notice any advantage over the stock pistons.
