They both look really good! A solid red paintjob is going on THEcar, bahaha.
Thanks, if you don't have a painter, check out Hitaslice. He also shipped them from North Carolina in 2 days!

I actually like it better than 1/8th

That's mainly preference. But, we can get you headed in the right direction.

Most common are Castle Mamba Monster 1800-2200. Or Tekin RX8 T8 combo. Anywhere from 1700kv to 2050 for the track. 4S being the most popular battery size. Pinion gears range from 18T to 21T for these.

We've found that the stock pinion is way too small. I've run a 2050kV Tekin with a 21t pinion without any trouble on 4S.

that's a big pinion, I run that on my ve8... lol and the spur is 4 teeth bigger than the rc8be.

I don't watch the temps on my motors and esc, I figure if they're able to be touched after a 12 minute main without hurting then we're good(:

I just look at the lights on my esc usually. The Ve8 and the Rc8be have the same internal gear ratio, 4.3:1

You know I could have been geared wrong, because with the 2050 on the rc8be It was really sluggish.

I run 21 tooth with my 2050. It's out of control. Geared down to a 19. Much more managable on a small track.

Then I was geared way too low. This guy is telling me his plastic spur has lasted through his 6s in his rc8be.
