Team Associated RC8Be Thread
#5161
Been a while since I visited this thread so I started back about 5 pages or so and all I can say is I think it will be even longer until I check back next time. Perhaps by then there will useful info pertaining to the RC8Be.

I disagree with that Gregg. The RC8Be is a racecar that really deserves to be raced on the track. IMO the best threads are the ones where racers are asking for and/or giving advice on setups, tips, tricks, etc to make their car better and laptimes faster. Even when this thread isnt filled with arguments back and forth its filled with people asking the exact same questions over and over and over and over about build tips and what lipo is best and on and on. It would be nice to see more of racers helping racers. Hopefully this new information thread you're putting together will stop that and allow this thread to return to that.

I have questions. lol
i have a converted rc8b i think with the AE electric conversion kit.
does anybody have any tips for it. and does anybody have a good indoor clay setup on a medium sized track.
Also i keep hearing something about a steering mod?
Any tips on how to get more rotation out of my car? it feels pretty good, just want to get more corner speed. When i hit the breaks it wants to push. I have been running 2wd for the last 15 years so im use to the opposite.

There is not much you can do about the pushing under braking. The only fix for that is mechanical brakes that you can adjust the biasing. You may be able to correct some of it through ABS on your radio if it has the feature also. You can try 20 percent drag brake and just letting off inc the corners and not using the normal brake.

I politely disagree with your thinking here. I've read though all 5,000 posts on this thread and it is 99% about wrenching and 1% about racing. It's been like that from the start. From the way it sounds in your post -- you are under the impression this was a thread conversating about racing set up's and whatnot; which, in essence it never has been, but I can appreciate you're wanting the conversation to move in that direction.
And this is where Gregg comes in with his statement. While we await gregg's final compiling of the good information contained within this thread; it seems all questions have been asked and all wrenching has been covered. We really have run out of things to discuss in that regard about the RC8be - and questions are being asked again because people can't find the information they seek due to the large amount of information contained within this read and (IMO) the search engine within RCT kind of stinks. (Hence why Gregg is doing this project) I wish more threads were this detailed.
I'm sure the talk will turn more to racing when we are not in this crazy thing we all know as winter. For many of us, bench racing and wrenching is all we have. Hard to talk about it if you cant do it.
Aside from the stupidness of a few with wasted conversation in here (and I've been guilty of it too) there's a lot to offer here - a lot ... in regards to this car. If you choose not to check in - that's your right, but honestly I think you're going to be missing out and dismissing some good information on a premature judgment that isn't accurate.

Got my chassis braces installed last night! She is clean looking, even used a little armorall on her to shine! She looks and sounds good! Can't wait to try her at this new track. Mmhobby in Houston. Kind of a smal track but it should be ok. I am bringing my laptop and going to do what a few people suggested. I am going to put the current limiter on maybe 20(lol) with no timing. Atleast until I get better at driving!
I am very curious to see how much better she handles seeing as I have te bushings in the correct way now!
mad at myself for that one!!
