What current is your bec output rated for at a given input voltage ?

Adjustable bec voltage actually wont help if it drops heavily under load

I've been running a Hitec 5645mg in my sc10 for a while now and I decided to try the 1258tg in it because I love it my TLR 8ight 2.0 the speed and torque is awesome. I run a Mamba Max Pro and as soon as I turned it on it started glitching whenever I turn the wheel, thanks to you guys in this thread you solved my problem I put on a Specktrum Voltage Protector and now it works fine. Thanks guys.

I just put the 1258 in my SC10. I tried the specktrum VP (capicator) and it helped but when I turned the wheels back and fourth fast after the 3rd or 4th cycle the Green LED on my receiver would flicker (brown out). This worried me because I didnt want my transponder to miss any laps so I added the CC BEC.

It kinda sucks I did that for both my SC10 and my SCTE.

Thanks that's nice to know, I just put the spektrum VP capacitor in and have not had a chance to try it on the track yet but I'm planning on it tomorrow, I've just run it back and forth at home and seems to be fine. Did the CC BEC resolve the problems?

I'm realizing that these servos are power hungry, I run them in my nitro as well and every now and then it glitches too, and I'm thinking of putting a VP capacitor in it also.

Default Im on the Savox band wagon now!

I just got a new Savox 1258TG and I now see why everyone has seemed to forget about JR and Hitec now a days. That thing is hands down one of the nicest servos Ive ever used! Fast, plenty of torque and as smooth operating as you could ask for. I raced for the first time yesterday and veteran racers where shocked at my Blitz's steering. I hear "Ive never in all my years seen a Blitz steer that good!" Great servo's! And I luckily traded a radio for one to a hobbyshop guy, but I would have been thrilled to buy it. Great specs and features for the price.

I just got a 1257tg and im using it for steering in my Durango.

This thing is terrible, no I'm not joking. I've installed it but I'm afraid to try to drive the damn thing.

It's pulling so much current making my reciever brown out with it sitting still. Yes, I have a spektrum cap on my spektrum reciever. I'm using a Tekin RS.

It's fast and has high resolution but I don't have enough space to run a BEC. I don't understand why I'd have no issues with a hitec 5998tg with no cap, but this thing is killing it at idle with a cap.

I've tried a couple caps and it still does it. Any ideas, other than a BEC or getting rid of my Tekin.

9 out of 10 times the external cap solves the issue with brown-outs....the BEC rating on RS is not adjustable either....hmmm....anyone?

Not sure on the RS but I just ran a full day with the 1258tg and MM Pro with the SPM1600 VP and it worked flawlessly, I'm hoping it'll hold up next week during club races. The speed, torque at the price this thing is a great value.

My local hobby shop has the Novak Glitch Buster capacitor on hold for me. Others at the track have used this and the Spektrum capacitor with similar results.

If the Novak unit doesn't work I will try the Spektrum version. I'm going to look for specs on both units to compare while I wait for my 22 to arrive!

The spektrum cap wasn't big enough, so I got the novak one. It wasn't strong enough so I used a y-cable and used both in parallel. It's still glitchy.

I've tried to call the customer support number for savox and it's a personal cellphone?

I'm hoping they can switch me out to another servo, or this thing will be for sale.

I have a 1257TG in a B44 with futaba receiver and LRP speedo and have had no problems whatsoever. It is an older Sphere Worlds Edition 2007 ESC with only 5.5V BEC, too.

i use the castle 10amp bec that you can program to 4.8-9 volts.. i have mine at 5.1 (stock) setting and have had no issues.. this is with rx8 speedo and a 1900 kv motor.. i will get a castle link and turn it up to 6.0-7.0v for faster steering speed.. it is not to slow at 5.1 but want the 6.6 for the normal feel.. castle part # is 095-0022-00... jeremy

After briefly reading some of the posts, will I have any problems with a Savox 1258TG in my Blitz running a Tekin RS with a 17.5, and Futaba R603FF/FS reciver?
