Default First weekend out report

I had both of my sons out this weekend for there first practice runs on the rc8be's they got for christmas. Box stock setup with the holeshot tires. Tekin 1900 systems. Car looked pretty decent. Only thing I noticed after trying it was the on corner exit push under power. So, we will make some changes to try and correct that. Nothing broke on either of the cars. Cars were both very stable and both boys did well with them. Only problems were the screws in the front aluminum hubs. The one car they kept backing out. So we ordered more screws and I plan on locktiting the crap out of them and then using some shoe goo to keep the screw tacked to the a-arm. Very little wear on the tires also. This is a 100% top soil sifted track so it's very tame on tires.

Turnigy in general is a decent battery, Ive had Turnigy that lasted me a few years and some that just went bad. Good bang for the buck!

How do you straighten them out?

Got my build done today. Body still needs painting but other than that it's all ready to go. Handles like it's on rails. I have to get used to it compared to my truggies. Setup:
MMP/1800kv 1512
Tekno V3 kit
775 for the diffs
45wt front shock fluid
40wt rear shock fluid
Prolien Caliber
geared 18/46
HPI SF-32TT servo (same as the hitech 7955tg)

Runs good but a little slow on 4 cell lipo. Speed calculator estimates it at 37mph. On 5s it runs good with good speed. The motor would run more efficient of 5s but I wanted to run 4s because of the weight. Would it be better to gear up to a 20t pinion or keep it the same. It will be mostly ran on 4s unless I run out of all those then 5s.
Also what color scheme should I do for the body. Those are some Parma decals on there.
Thanks for looking,
Terry
Also one more thing, the front DE skid plate, does it mount the square end towards the front or rear?

+1

I also place it on a non-rebounding surface *wood* and tap it with a hammer. It's hard/near impossible to get the perfect after being bent

I have the 2200 system and on the advice of others on this thread, I geared up to a 20t pinion and wow what a difference! The buggy came to life! The motor temp after 6 mins was 158 degrees. Perfect!

Nice setup. Where did you get those dust covers for the center CVAs?

The front skid plate? Only mounts one way as I recall. The rear is square end to the back.

Default Ball Diff??

this may be a dumb question but is there a ball diff for this?

would a ball diff be better than a gear?
