Yeah, i wouldn't use the brakes. The only thing I don't like about it is the fact that you can only use like 3 shells with it, and none of them are Associated. A Losi shell fits it. And Proline makes another shell that fits it pretty well, which looks a lot better.

If you can race with a larger motor, more power to you (pun intended). Diff'rent strokes, folks. People can read the thread and make their own choices.

Thanks man I appreciate that!

I always favored mechanical brakes as I felt it had more feeling and bite, have you tried out this tekno system, the things Ive read about them seems to be very a very strong chassis!

I haven't run them personally, but this past weekend I saw 2 people running the Tekno setup with the "brake" on since they built it. One very fast guy was running his Mugen without it, and said "Man take that thing off" I know at least 1 guy took his off and said it was a huge difference for the better with it off. So, no I haven't run it to be able to tell the difference, but I cant imagine it stops much better than 100% engine braking on a Tekin.

As there is a difference between the two, it would come down to drivers preference and if it is set right, also the reason why many choose tekno.

All of the Nitro buggies use mechanical brakes. You have to drive and see. The ability to set the brake bias front or rear is the reason. With the motor brake you don't have that control. I have both buggies and I have to say that each have their advantages. One doesn't seem better than the other.

Are you going to be racing outside with us this summer. The 1900 is the way to go. You'll never finish a 15 min main with a 2650.

Any ideas on gearing / tyre set up for Grass Track Racing?

running an RC8Be, MMP, 2200kv Castle Motor, DS1313 Servo, 4PL Radio on 4s Lipo.

Have a set of Badlands and AKA Crossbrace on Corr style Rims but not sure if either of those are suitable for Grass.

Also any general set up info? Are Tapered pistons worthwhile?

1. 18/46
2. Check Tower. Look through their tire selection. They have specific tires for grass racing.
3. I'd reference some of the pro's set up's on the site. I'm not very got in this category as I"m still learning myself.
4. I'm not ready to mess with my pistons yet either. So no help there. I'm just changing my shock oil to 32.5(f) 27.5(r).

Wish I could be more help. Even the gearing I'm 2nd guessing myself

Can you run a MMP on 1/8 scale? I have one that I was saving for the SC10 4x4 but if I don't have to buy another esc...
