Thanks everyone for the useful posts in this thread. I ordered a TC6 last week, so it should arrive soon. I also ordered another receiver, RS Pro, 17.5 Thunder Power stock motor, and a few other parts that have been suggested throughout the thread. I'm planning to set the car up using the K. Hebert high traction carpet setup as a starting point.

Now I'm deciding on batteries. I'm looking at using something from Reedy, ProTek, etc. I might have missed it in the thread, but it looks like batteries that are around 138x48x25 should fit fine, correct?

All the batteries I have been considering run banana connectors directly on the battery, so my plan was to solder banana plugs directly to the RS Pro without any balance taps, then have a second set of banana connectors with balance taps for the charger. Is this usually how you guys run your batteries?

For the servo, I'm planning to use a Savox 1251MG.

Sorry if this was discussed earlier, does anyone know who makes a lighter weight cva bones and axles for the tc6. The steel ones weigh a ton and I don't think my 25.5 motor (VTA) will be able to turn them!! Thanks.

Shim under body mounts!

For those of you having trouble mounting certain bodies with the stock front posts, AE PN# 4535 is a little taller, and solves all of your problems, especially those related to most of the VTA/RCGT bodies.

Ernest I just built my TC6 this weekend and had exact same issue.

Sort of disappointed but all quality issues which are easy to fix, just annoying. Overall found design A+ as usual for AE.

I'm ordering aftermarket CVD's and replacement hingepins....look like 2.5mm. My pin was 2.3mm.

Hows the TC6 handle out of the box on a slippery track?

I have found the TC6 has lots of grip out of the box, I found that I've had to stiffen up my car due to to much grip and this is one a track known to low to med grip at best.

Scoots, try the no dot roll centre on the lower arms, this seems to be the best option for your situation. I also run heavier sway bars 1.5 up fron and a 1.3/4 on the rear. The longer wheelbase also seems to let it settle more mid to out.

I'm already running lower roll center, and I think I am running a longer wheel base.

I've been looking at this car for a few weeks now and am thinking about buying one. I drive a top photon right now and I'm just looking to get a car that my lbs can get parts for. Is there anyone on here that has driven both the photon and a tc6, I'm just looking for a comparison. How does the car perform on very low grip carpet.

A couple of the guys have the top at the lcoal track.
My advice is always go with a car that you can setup easily and it is easy to drive. I have had no issues with the TC6 and it was very good with the kit setup out of the box on our low traction carpet. The local TOP guys have started to move away from theirs as they couldn't get it to handle as well. Saying this though, rember everyone is differet in the setup department. I just have found the TC6 easy and just like the xray, if you make a change you notice the difference.

Since then I have continued to refine my setup for Timezone. I love the car. There are a few things I really like over the Photon. I go in to most in the review. As far as does the car make me faster? I think yes. I have TQ'd club night 17.5 sedan 5 out of the last 6 weeks. I have never done this before.
