Savox Servos

The Castle BEC will work just fine on a nitro. It's really just a switching regulator. Hook it up to a 2 cell lipo and program your output voltage using the Castle link adapter (sold separately of course). You can program the voltage in 0.1V increments. It can put out 7 amps continuously even at 12V (only 5 amps at 24V) so it should be fine even with two power hungry servos. It wasn't even getting warm with my Savox 1267.

i've been running the 1267 & 1268 through my spectrum 3001 receiver & helios transmitter with spectrum pro module with LiFe 1450 rx batt for the last 3 month every 2nd day without any problems what so ever, & getting about 90 minutes runtime & recharging at about 6.2 v.
a lot of mates have the DX3S & are having lots of problems running digital servos, those that changed to the DX3R have no problems at all.
i'll change to my spectrum 3000 rx & see if there's any difference.

how is the sr300 compared to the sr3000? any issues known with them?
has anyone with the savox servos and glitching with spektrum try their voltage regulator cap? I am going to buy one I think that's the fix!

got a 1251mg for my RC10, its fast, hope it can hold on to my driving and not break. just need to get a decent Servo saver, my old tamiya saver cannot keep up to the speed. not going back to its orig position.

Well I emailed Savox USA last night about my burnt out 1267 and by this morning they had responded saying that I just have to send in the dead servo and they will replace it under warranty. Bravo.

I still can't find a gear set for my SC1256TG. Even Savox USA is out of stock. I love the performance of the servos but the titanium is weak and expensive to replace. The servo only has two 5 minute qualifiers on it and I guess its a paper weight now

servo based, the savox require a constant higher voltage than most servo in my opinion anyway, what radio are you running? i know certian futaba rx's only reccomend 6.0v, the specktrum will handle up to 9.6v. running a futaba rx that is only rated at 6v will starve a savox servo, and will glitch and act all crazy looking for MORE POWER. on my jammin scrt10 i had to set CC BEC at 6.5v to get the savox servo to work as it should, any lower than that would cut power from receiver and servo.
I was running a spektrum 6040 (which I HEARD is the same as a savox 1258tg), and it lasted one battery and one 6 min qual before it just quit working. Took it off the track and the servo was a little warmer than I thought it oughtta be... Not stripped, but it seems something inside has just died, it doesnt try to do anything.
I am running a CC BEC @ 6.0v, and that is up from the 5.1 it comes defualt. I almost thought I may have over juiced it by taking it up to 6v, but thought that hard to believe, as thats what these things are rated at. I did notice my MMP (before I had the BEC) had the rx voltage typically around 5.5v.
I am now running a Savox1258TG - ran it for once race and it held up @ 6v. I think I'm going to assume that the spektrum servo was just a fluke. How long have you ran your savox @ 6.5v?
Running traxas radio BTW.....going to futaba 4pl soon.
