BTW, if anyone wants some nice 10 gauge wire, I have an almost brand new package of 10 ga Viper wire. Very, very flexible, but the insulation is a bit thick, and 10 ga is really tough to solder to the RX8 posts. I'd love to use 10 ga, but the wire is so short that 12 ga doesn't bother me too much.

no marking on the wire... the solders are strong though haha...
GreggW how big is your track. Im starting to think the 20t might geared a bit for the top end over torque... But man its got some punch off the line... MUST GET TO THE TRACK

I didn't put any shrink on the motor connections, but I did put some shrink on the posts. I know people say you shouldn't because of heat, etc; however I have not had any issues with heat (however, I have not run the ESC in the 105F Texas summer heat).
I am concerned about something shorting out across bare connections, so I'd prefer to shrink the motor connections, but I'm not as concerned about the motor connectors as I am the battery posts. I imagine that's why Tekin interlaced the motor wires with the battery wires on the ESC.

good idea on shrinking post as they are exposed....knowing that it is used as another means of heat sink cant see that little bit of heat exchange will make a difference on those covered post.

Solid strand 12 gauge, maybe?
There is a post here that discusses that. Randy gave some opinions, and IIRC, he said anything under 180F is fine. Some people will even run 190F or so, but I think 180F if the "usual" upper limit.

Ive worn down some pinions, the worse was a shredded a rc-monster (mesh was good too ?? ). The original 15t on the sc8e (metal spur) is showing some shiny areas. I would hate for my track day to end because of a damaged pinion.
