Default Please Answer

This is the motor I got, Someone just told me I should't use this motor. What do you guys think? I went with the truggy motor and 4s lipo thinking I would be able to compete with the nitros at my local track. Did I make the wrong choice? Please chime in your input.

Used that exact motor in my RC8BE last year a bit to test. Worked great. Tone it down a bit on the ESC settings and you're set. I liked the way the truggy motor performed in the buggy and I found it to be more durable than the buggy motors.

Bah,

I think I've seen some conversation about this earlier but am I doing to need an extension for the ESC wire heading to the receiver?

God.. it's one thing after another on the mods LOL

I found a solution, but not necessarily a good one:

I routed the ESC wire to the receiver box along the side of the battery tray.... and, I just realized it isn't going to work. Damn it. The wire will rub against the spur gear.

No choice but to go underneath. I guess no choice but to buy an extension

I know a guy in Nassau that has a 300ft track with doubles and singles. It's a great track. Just met him. Will be spending time practicing there.

For the competitive racing I'm going to chester, NY and Rome, NY. The 1/8 E run with the nitro's at both tracks.

So, who is running an extension from the ESC to the receiver?

I can't see any way to get around it.

Now the question is, what kind of extension do I need??

I'm running a Futaba 4PL 2.4ghz. Thus, the Futaba J connection I would think is the correct one.

Thoughts?

I'd do a single 4S, pretty much for the fact that the wiring is going to be less involved and will likely result in less internal resistance.

I'm running one. You can use a universal or a Futaba extension. I bought a Futaba extension off of Tower, but I only needed one that was like 2" long, so I cut one end off and bought these connectors from A Main:

I have some crimpers I use on the race car that worked perfectly. I was able to make very good crimps and it works great without a bunch of extra wiring.

I even shortened my steering servo wire and eliminated all that extra wiring too.

Extension? I don't run an extension. I run it under the battery tray then in between the center bulk head and the front chassis brace.
