Go-Tech Engines Thread
OK... spoke at length with Taiwan last night. A few of things:
Crank is coated, although we're not disclosing what it is. It is however, similar to another manufacturer, but a different process.
Crank is also a HARDER material. Just how much harder, I dont know. We will soon see.
Carburetor slide is coated as well. This explains the buttery feel.
Piston is a new material. Not harder (because would be more brittle), but the best way to describe it would be that it deals with tension (i.e. gudgeon pin/wrist pin pulling and pushing) better. Engrish tlansration.
7 port GXII.. this is a distinct possibility, albeit later in the year.
For those of you waiting for images, promo materials, etc for your web site. I discussed this with Taiwan as well. He asked what I needed. I said "EVERYTHING. SEND ME EVERYING." He said that it might take a few days, but they're on it.
GXII goes into full production next week- Sunday night for us. I placed an order for the first 50 GXII-5R HO. So, the first 50 engines will be shipped to the US. I told them we need them by March 1st. They said they will try their hardest. I know you guys are as ready to rock n roll as I am!
PREORDERS!!! Guys, I've got approx 10 GXIIs preordered and paid for. These 50 will be on a 1st come 1st served basis. Preorders first, regular orders second. I am granting a discount plus free domestic shipping (Venezuela and Mexico customers ship to a US address.) on multiple engine orders. To receive the discount, team members and shops must have their orders paid for by March 1st, 2011.
Billing! Those shops that I've been dealing with know I've been less than pleased with the performance and costs involved w/ the CC billing outfit that we've been using. Well, I've got the new billing system just about ready. I've worked out a deal with intuit (quickbooks) where each customer has a "customer portal." Once I generate and email an invoice, you will have a link to access your invoices online and pay them directly. The application is easy to use (on your end!), and accepts AMEX, Visa, MC, and checks. Not sure about discover, but I havent had anyone pay with that so far. For those of you that wish to use paypal, we will still be utilizing that. The added bonus is that you'll be able to view your current and past invoices online. Furthermore, it's actually cheaper than the old solution, so that helps me keep costs (and prices) down.

Anyways, the customer account pages are for dealers and team members (like yourself). As a distributor we are not going to be selling directly to retail customers. We are here to support our dealers and team drivers!
Also... if your hobby shop isnt carrying parts, send their info to us! [email protected]!
I'll extend this offer to any GO customer.................
All you have to do is cover all my travel and meal expenses !!!!!!

(the above smilies are to indicate that I'm not serious)
come to think of it, that'd give me the chance to meet all my distant GO customers. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Lol like I said before... we put the goodies inside this time! Also, our conrods are priced much lower than most others to begin with.

I might drop a T3 plug in the box, I haven't really decided yet. Depends on how the $US sits against our currency when my orders go through really.
For what people are going to be getting for their dollar, the lack of a plug or spare rod isn't a biggie IMO
