That makes quite a bit of sense to me, as in slippery conditions one would like to slow weight transfer as much as possible.

I looked up the pull bar/lift bar thing, and came across:

Unless I'm misunderstanding something, this is quite different than chassis flex, no? From the article, it sounds like it's more along the lines of slowing the torque applied to the tires, which one could accomplish by adjusting the current limit on the ESC instead of controlling chassis flex.

That's not exactly an explanation.

Again, I'm not saying you guys are wrong. Not in the least, however I'm not really one to just accept things without asking questions. I like to know why things work the way they do.

BTW, thanks for any explanations. I'm just looking to learn!
Your right, they are different but they work around the same basic principle. I think you understand how it works. Your question about dampening chassis flex. The answer to that is chassis braces. The plastic braces are a softer dampening whereas a aluminum brace is harder. It's as simple as that, you are over thinking it I promise.

You know, my subconscious works on these things while I'm sleeping (which came in handy during grad school!), and I realized this morning that the chassis flex allows the axle to "wind up" for lack of a better term. Now tossing 4WD into the mix messing things up a bit, but I understand conceptually what you're saying.

Also, I tend to over think everything.

Sorry to hear about that Gregg. I had no issues at all. I updated the firmware, updated the settings, and all that without any problems.

One thing you might try, if you're able to get the ESC to power on, is to change the voltage cutoff to none. That way, you can eliminate that as a variable.

Not sure why you're getting the error message on update.

I'd be frustrated too. Just hang in there, it's totally worth it.

Just waiting for the guys in the Tekin thread to respond. I'm pretty frustrated with it.

So i know Integy is usually frowned upon, but I found a sick deal on the HD caster blocks from Integy...

Does anyone have any experience with them?

Instead of posting and waiting for a response you should contact Randy Pike directly as he is the Primary contact for all things Tekin and is actually quite active on the Tekin boards. Drop him a PM and he will get you squared away. I've spoken with him several times and he has always taken care of me.

Realize how many people post on the Tekin thread on any given day and you'll understand the delay in answering your question. Good luck with it!

Should I email him directly? Or just PM him here? And I definitely understand how many people post on that thread. This thread is pretty active itself. And I try to read every post I see in here.

It's a little hard to explain it typing on my iPhone. I posted in the Tekin thread. I saw some of your posts in there, but basically as soon as I turn it on it goes solid red. I've had anything but solid red lights. And a few times I've turned it on and I get nothing. Switched it off and back on like 5 times. And the 5th time it powers up. But I only get solid red. My 4pk receiver light is green. Don't know what's going on. Unable to communicate after update appears. And the program closes. Esc doesn't respond to the buttons at all.

Default Stock setup question.

I got a used RC8Be recently and I wanted to set it back to the stock settings. My question is how in the heck do you get the ride height to 30mm, like in the manual, with that setup? I couldn't do it with the black springs.

Both TY and Randy ended up responding, I think they got the impression I was freaking out. I was just frustrated because I cant tell if its something Im doing or its the product. If its the product, thats fine Ill send it back. Im disappointed, yes, I haven't even got to try it out and Im already paying shipping back to Tekin, but it could very well be me too. So we'll see.

On a side note UPS just came to the door and I got my steering servo back, the just replaced it with a complete new one. Kudos to associated for taking care of me, total turn around time, including shipping and the weekend was 7 days, 5 of which were shipping.

Never tried it, but I cant imagine locking all the wheels would be good for anything but drifting. I may be wrong though.

I wouldn't trust those, if you are going to give anything Integy a try, try these

Default Theory for ya Gregg

Call it superstition...

Maybe coincidence...

But I can't help but to notice you're running a Futaba Radio...

And I'll tell ya. I've seen it in the Tekin forum, I've heard it from locals, and it's shaping up to be more and more true that Futaba devices do in fact glitch with Tekin ESC's.

I have no supporting evidence but the growing stories of this conincidental occurance, but it's possibly scaring me enough to engulf myself into a Spectrum.

Take it with a grain of salt... but that's my $0.02.
