Despite what Castle says, the Mamba Max Pro BEC is very weak. Lots of people need to run an External BEC with that speedy if they use any Servo that's high powered, which is fair enough. But in this case I think High Powered must be anything over Futaba S3003!

I put one in my Scrt10 (cant remember which servo# off the top of my head), running the Traxxas VXL-3s, no issues power wise, but man is it noisy

I also just picked up a low profile one for my xxx buggy. That will be running off a Tekin RS. Anyone used a Savox with the RS? Think I'll need a cap?

What's everyones opinion on a servo for 2wd Buggy? I'll be using a Tekin RS Pro and 2S LiPo. I was thinking either the 1251 or 1257. I also use a Spektrum DX3R and Spektrum Rec., will I need a cap in this application too?

i am running a 1257 with an rs 17.5 boosted on spectrum and i HAD to do a cap, it would actually "brown out" on the bench. save yourself the headache and put one on, a buddy of mine is running a novak gtb esc with everything else the same as me and he also needed one

Maybe, maybe not. I have had to add a cap on some and not on others. In my 2wd buggy using a Tekin RS, Spektrum 3500 and 1257 servo I needed a cap. In my 4wd buggy with the Tekin RS Pro and 3500 I didn't need one with the 1258 and in my SCT. Go figure!

Odd. I am running the 1258 in my Hyper TT, RS 8.5 with no problems. All in all though, you're right, simply as a matter of prevention.

Editing as I see you're running Spek. I am running a 4PK/604.

Did any of the mamba max pro guys that had problems with the bec, try increase the BEC output with the castle link? According to the castle link software you can increase the BEC output up to 7v. Most servos are only 6v. Just a thought. I want to get one of these servos, but dont want to add an extra battery to my touring car.

Thanks
Chris

Dont feel like reading through all these pages anyways what do you guys recommend for a high tq servo for 1/8th scale. I like buying a good quality servo to begin with and mind spending $$$$ to get one. Thx also wat aluminum horn will fit it.

I've had about an hour on it, seems very good so far. Hopefully it lasts 12 months +.

This question may have already been asked... but can these servos work with a m11x in SSR mode? Thanks

I just bought a Spektrum H6040, which is built by Savox and is basically a rebadged 1258. My question is: why does it say "not for 1/8 offroad" on amain?

The 1258, with 12 kilos, should be good enough for gas/brakes and even steering for a buggy...

I have mine mounted on gas/brakes in my Ofna DM-1. VERY fast...

(The Spektrum here is cheaper than the Savox version btw...)
