Team Associated RC8Be Thread

Hi
The RC8Be FT is the first kit I ever built. I am relatively new to RC cars so its taking me a little longer to build my car.
I will be driving my car mostly on road.
What are good tires (brand) to get?
And
I saw black rims on some of the cars. What is a good spoked rim (brand) to get?
Is it a good idea to change out the tire and rim and not use the stock set that it comes with?
Thanks
Peter

Those are my 3 choices for tires. As for what specific tire, it all depends on your track conditions. Most tires provide a short description on the websites, and some even have a chart showing their abilities on certain track conditions.
The Jconcepts Rulux wheels are a black spoked wheel. Jconcepts stuff is good quality.

Edit: Just saw you said you would be driving on road and not racing. Possibly check out the "Proline Badlands" for bashing.

The wheels only come in white or black, however you could use "Rit Dye" and dye the white ones black.

Anyone have a good car bag? I see bags online ranging from 80 to >200 dollars. Since I will often be going cottaging with my RC8be and my sons slash I would like a decent quality / price balance since I need 2. Some tool drawers and space for chargers would be great too. Recommendations appreciated.
I'm talking the large boxy things that hold all your kit.

Hey,
I have a new RC8e w/ the Be (blue FT) shock towers that I never finished building. If you are waiting for one -I'll sell it cheaper than new because I opened the box and started fiddling.
Let me know!
CB
*Vector system too if you need it (unopened)
**I am sticking with 1/10 scale

I'm talking about the same power though for $139. Definitely a good charger for $279. And then you still need a power supply, you arent going to pull 360 watts on the A/C side. I paid $210 for my charger and 350 Watt power supply, that does the same thing. So it was price I was mainly talking about with the single 150 watt Hyperions that are still more than mine with half the power.

no doubt an expensive charger. thats why i bought it used, found a great deal on a charger in perfect condition with original packaging and manual!! i dont think theres a better one out there. that being said i wouldnt hesitate to buy any of the protek chargers and currently use protek lipos and power supply. all great stuff!!
This is the one I have.

I would say look for a good hard case lipo if you're going to sanctioned ROAR races. Otherwise most tracks don't require them. Gen Ace has a hard pack 4S for like $50-$60, but I haven't seen it in stock for a long time. And then when they do have it's gone in a day.
As for servos. That JR wouldn't be too bad. 142 torque is a little on the soft side. I just broke my 132 oz torque servo. That's why I bought the XP. I want it to last more than 2 months. That servo speed is right down the middle. It's not super fast. But it's better than .20.
And as for the diff sanding. We described it in detail a few pages back. Basically you are taking the diff apart. Emptying it and cleaning it out and setting the plastic cover face down on 400-600 grit sand paper and going in a figure 8 to get the surface flat and true.
As for the Hyperion chargers. This was a hard decision for, but it came down to the fact that the iCharger had double the output power and will charge 6 lipos at a time in series with the right power supply. 300 watts iCharger 150 watts Hyperion.

Yeah, I read that post. I didn't completely understand what you were saying until I took a look at some pictures in more detail (of the diff.). Although; from what I'm gathering...... your thinking the sanding should eliminate all leak issues and the new O-rings are not necessary. There is a difference of opinion on that topic apparently as some feel O-rings are a must, some not, and has everyone already tried sanding it (O-rings or no O-ring flip?) That's kind of what I was curious about, but I got ya.

How do you charge 6 batts at the same time with that charger?
