I bought mine relatively recently and the brakes on 100% were strong enough to lock up the wheels on asphalt (track's closed so I can't test on carpet yet). On 75% they're a little weak though, so if you want to set you brake in the ESC, get a different one, if you don't mind setting it in the transmitter via DR this one works fine.

Nope, no idea which fw it's running. I was too cheap to pick up a program card, there's so few settings I didn't see the point. I'll probably pick one up with the next time I need to fill some buffer for free shipping.

i picked one of these up to toss in a 17.5 2wd car and was wondering if its possible to eliminate the switch?
didnt think of that when i bought it as i hate external switches. i may end up selling and just buying a xr10 stock spec

Shouldn't be a smart switch so you should be able to open it up, de-solder the wires that go to the switch and bridge the two corresponding pads. Good luck on re-calibrating it without disassembly though.

ugh youre right about the calibration...didnt think of that maybe ill just shorten the wires and mount the switch on one side and the cap on the other.
i try to have as minimal wiring on my cars as possible.

Just got my OTA set up and went into this ESC.

Couple questions. DDRS punch rate. I assume that is just wheel spin control so if on high track carpet, put it on 9?
Also, there are several firmware options. V1_509, V1_20K, V1_17.5K. Are the last two RPM limited versions?

If you scroll over the menu on the manufacture website, they list 3 of their ESC's rated for 1S:

XR10 Stock Spec 1S - https://www.hobbywingdirect.com/prod...nt=27998511377

XR10 Pro/Modified 1S - https://www.hobbywingdirect.com/coll...s/xerun-1s-esc
