I participated in my first race with the tecnopower in my buggy and truggy. The engine performed great, man it is a smooth motor!!!! The motor in the truggy gave me plenty of power and was ripping. Tony how consistent is the runtime? I had to pit 4x's in a 30 min main in buggy of course it's probably my driving lol. I'm glad to be apart of the team Tony thanx again can't say enough about the engine! Any updates as to when the tuned edition and the .23 truggy is coming. Tony as soon as they post the results I will get them to you.

Great news C Nutz your run time should get better once you have over a gal though the engines as well.

what is your method for engine break in?? how many tanks?? this should be in the manual once i get it but every engine manufacture seems to have a different way.... i would like to have 1/2 a gallon before sat. race day thru the motor before race tune.. jeremy
I personally do the cyrul breakin... WOT and flood the HSN for about a half gallon. then bring it in on the track slowly. Once a gallon is over let it rip.

Exactly, they really dont reach full tune and RPM until a gallon or more has been ran, this isnt an engine that looses its fit after a couple tanks of quarts. Engines that have long life are made with more care and the parts fit much better but do require alittle more run in. Be patient as you will have many many gallons of happy engine life and reliable performance as your reward The $200 engines that seem to be all the rage are spent by the time ours is just getting good. We're not interested in manufacturing average or cheap engines. Its not our market. For the price and the product the Tecno is one of the best deals out there right now

Tony I know you are keen to promote the engines but please do not post BS. Not all in the 200US range are same and even some Taiwan made engines will outlast the Italian made engines in this price range so it's not that black and white thing. Besides it's always bad to bash competition and if your product is hands down better why even bother ?

well got the motor all broke in.. got a chance to race tune it on sat.. was very good... on a track that most motors only get 5-6 min.. i was able to get the 7.5 i needed.. yes even the os speeds and novarossi's are having a hard time geting 7.5.... track is very loose with very little traction... lots of tire spin even with a .9 clutch... motr ran very strong all day long.. i tried many different pipes.. jp-1, jp-2. rb2045, ofna 053, losi re11, os 2050 and os2060... ofna 053 gave best overall runtime.. lacked a little on top end.. jp-2 had good top but so-so bottom.. jp-1 good bottom ok top.. than motomatt showed up at the track and was a life saver... the local hobby store that carries the tecnopower line.. just happend to have the 069 teco pipe.. well yes that is the pipe of choice for the motor... good bottom. great top also with a very explosive but very smooth power band from bottom to top... well off the race track agian today.. jeremy

I'm not usually abrasive, especially in public. The few that was directed towards got the point.

Moving on....

How was breakin Jeremy? Did you have time to get enough fuel through it? Runtime should still get better and better....

yes tony got a full 1.5 gallons thru the mill...

all i can say is thank you very much tony for giving me the chance to run this motor this and next year!!!!

quick review... started break in on thur. afternoon... very easy motor to break in but takes alot of time.. motor only stalled once in the hole break in process.. got about 1/2 gallon on thur... fri got to run it a little more another 1/2 or so thru the motor.. ech night i would take the motor apart to inspect... well all is good on the break in.. as expected but making sure so i can pass any info on to others... sat. got to the track for some finishing breakin.. another 1/4 gallon on the track.. got it 80% race tuned on sat.. still gurgulling on the top end but doing ok... tq'ed with a 1st place finish...

sunday was off to the track again.. got there late due to having a football game in the morning.. missed first round but got there in the 20 min break.. started the car got it warm started rac tuning.. about 1.5 gallos on it now... 2nd qualifier took 2nd was on a tq run but lapped traffic managed to hit me hard.. was in the lowest heat due to being late.. 3rd qual. on a tq run when a lapped car turned right into me and i got caught in his wing... mad it back to .012 behind tq.. started second in the main buggy ran perfect.. leader crashed i took off and had a 9 sec. lead.. came in for pit (8 min mark) left and all good.. 12 sec lead now.. yup lapped traffic slammed me in the side while going thru the rhythm section and off the track i go.. marshall got me going now 5 sec behind the new laeder with 2 min to go... came back to be .3 behind.. lead ran out of fuel just after passing the finishline... i went 2 more laps for fun before i ran out...

motor is very smooth but yet powerful all thru the powerband.. ran against speeds, novarossi's, werk's and alpha motors this week and got better fuel mileage and did not give 1 inch of ground any where on the track to any of the motors.... very very happy with the overall performance of this engine... thank you again tony for the chance to run the tecnopower motors.. jeremy whiting....

My TP has just under a gallon of fuel thru it now and it is really starting to come alive. Still very tight, so I am pre heating the engine every time. I am normally worried about running a new engine in a race as it's always my luck the tune changes in the middle of the race, but this thing ran like a top!!! I am still slightly rich on top as well, but this engine made great power from the bottom to the top!!! Didn't try a 10 minute pit stop being slightly rich, but after the race I did run some test runs and was getting 10:50 till dry running rich, not enough to pit at 10 but it might just do it after it loosens up and I lean it out. I have no idea what the temps were as I am an anti temp gun kind of guy but there was good smoke and great power so why check!!

Very impressed with the engine so far and I can't wait for, I race at 5,500 feet and never once did I feel like I was lacking power compared to my previous brand of engines. Man I can't wait for that tuned engine to get here

I can tell you externally the TP case is milled in several places. One is to make getting to engine screws easier. Another is to allow you to run 2 short header springs and one long header spring rather than 4 shorts. The shorts can come off from time to time so using both types gives some insurance in a long main. I also know the oil hole on the TP rod is improved over the TQ version.

Most important is I have not seen an old GRP or a TQ engine run like the TP did. If something has to physically look different for you to believe that they are different than wait a bit for the new engine coming out. Fact is they are ALWAYS going to look similar by eye and by specs because the specs on these engines work. Look at the bore and the stroke of the TP and TQ.... the new OS engines coming out are going from their ways of the past to a bore and stroke identical to these engines.

You are right, I have numerous GRP Sport and Tuned engines, I am pretty good at tuning engines and I have to say that the TP engine in current guise is far superior to the GRP engines. The new one is waiting to be run in, however feel that it will be an improvement on a very, very good engine

Whats the range of plugs from hot to cold. The TP website says 7 Is the hottest and A main's website is saying that 7 is the coldest.
