Can't you just flip the pinion 180deg??

You have about half the teeth lined up so you could run like this but you are risking stripping the spur gear. It is your gear, your call.

Nope. Motor shafts are not that long.

Seems to be a common issue with them... I found another photo of someones elite mount...



I would maybe call elite up and see what they say.

haha thats funny that maifield is running the same weird offset on the spur. I am sure by now he has a different pinion but still funny.

Tried that but the set screw would not be on the motor shaft all the way. I'll have my new pinions this week so I'll be able to run this weekend

Hey Guys, my pinion of choice is either HotBodies or Robinson Racing, they have the shortest shank bodies which works best with my mounts.. I prefer HotBodies cause they have the shortest shank, they're lightened and also cheaper..

I'm using Losi Mod 1 pinions and they work fine with my Elite motor mount. I have the entire pinion in contact with the entire spur gear. I'll try to get some pictures posted this evening.

I am looking at picking up a SP 7.5R silver arrow 1/8 brushless motor and would like to know what is the Kv rating for this motor is?

Anyone else bending the front CVA bones in there RC8B or RC8Be? I've only raced mine two weekends in a small indoor facility and I've already bent both front CVA bones . I'm a better than average driver, so It's not like I'm banging walls and tubes all the way around the track. The kit was built from new so its not as if these CVA bones have a lot of time on them either.

I checked with a couple of other local guys who race the RC8B and RC8Be and they report similar problems. I went to order these from A Main and they're out of stock which might indicate this part is in high demand for the same reason.

At $20+ a pair, this is not the type of part I expect to be considered wear and tear if you know what I mean, grrrr!!!

Man, I am getting one of these toward the end of the month. They are on back order everywhere. I hope someone comes up with a solution by the time mine arrives because I cant keep replacing them that often either.

I've had good luck bending CVAs back into place.

I read somewhere that the Thunder Tiger S3 CVA's might work.

You can be unlucky and bend them but dont throw them out you just bend them back.It is pretty easy and with a few minutes of slowly working them you can get them close to perfect. They have been that way since day one .

i bent the left front the second time i drove the car, and i've been running it that way since june it's not a severe bend, but i'm just trying to give you an idea of what you can get away with!
