This is what I use to mount my ESC. It is super sticky and very flexible. I also take a couple small zip ties and run them over the ESC just to hold it in place.

There's a pic of my RC8Be. I thought that the build went VERY smoothly...and that's coming from a guy who's NEVER built a KIT RC before. Sure I made a few mistakes and had to redo a step or two. But I learned a LOT that I wouldn't have had I decided to go with an RTR.
It drives like a DREAM and immediately made me feel like a HERO!
My gear-
MMM w/ Castle/Neu 1512 1.5y (1800kv)
CC BEC
HiTec HS7950
Airtronics 92744 RX
Gearing is currently 20/46
I'm running 2- Tenergy 5200Mah 2S 25C Lipos in series (4S)
I'm pretty much running the stock setup with a few changes. I've switched to Ghea 3059 8x1.3mm tapered shock pistons and I've switched to Losi 32.5 oil all the way around. So far...so good!

I just finished my RC8Be build recently and now I'm just waiting on my DX3S to arrive so I can put in the receiver. I'm going to give a rattle can paint job a try but I'll probably also end up sending a JConcepts body to Kustom RC Graphics; I really like his work.
Question, what body did you use on this buggy?
Also, what do you guys do to prevent wires or the sides of the chassis from scratching up the undercoat paint on your bodies? Someone had suggested using tape to protect against chassis scratches but I was just wondering if that's what most folks use.

I've tried duct tape and heat tape, but found that shoe goo works best.

I don't use anything special for the sides. I always velcro both sides of the body to the side of the chassis so it doesn't rub. My wires on the inside do not rub the body at all the way I have it all soldered up.
On my SC body where I know stuff is going to rub I take a thin layer of shoe goo and rub it on the inside so it rubs away at that instead of the paint.

I've been very interested in a new chassis lately. I'd like to give that snr carbon one a shot but its expensive to say the least. I wondered if I could have anyone that knows give a few reviews and specs on the chassis currently available.
FT- the previous post says 12oz but I weighed my rtr chassis and it comes in at 10.46 so that seems off. Even the mud guards only weigh 1.43 together so thats close but not sure how it was weighed
SNR- he posted at 6.5 oz

if you get more than one pack the hobbycity.com turnigy packs ar good. I have 3 4s5000mah for my truggy. A lil heavy though, you can cut some of the wire and save a few grams and maybe get them down to 500-515g

I keep blowing out my left rear diff bearing, new case, shimmed right, it has always felt kinda loose, is this common or is something wrong? Thought it may be an outdrive, replaced it, but after every race, about 45min. give or take, the left side outdrive has a buttload of play(back and forth). It is worse afterthan before i run it, first tried ae bearings, then went to protek with same results, new to 1/8 so need some advice, thanks

Sorry for the miss calculation but it 6.6 oz. I can even make it lighter if I cut more material of like the flywheel and spur gear hole and drill out all the hole that is one the stock chassis.
