The nitro B and BE has the black plastic chassis supports to keep weight down.
The blue rod supports (pivot chassis brace 89068 and 89069) came in the nitro version of the FT RC8 and are an add on now and you can also get the Factory Team solid aluminum ones (89238 and 89239)

Does anyone really care about weight when it comes to these overpowered eight pound pigs? I see the chassis braces more as tuning options:

Black Plastic Braces = More Chassis Flex
FT Aluminum Braces = Less Chassis Flex
Blue Rod Braces = Somewhere In Between

Is that right?

I tried the blue rod and the rear bent on a hard landing I am going to the plastic ones that are also on the team set up sheets.

Looks good bllski, I like the wheels and I think I'm going to pick them up in red to match my paint job.

Default On Order

Interesting, the stock status has changed from Late Aug to On Order.

I wonder if this means AE is pushing them out sooner than expected; or does it mean Tower may not even have them by Late Aug?

Thumbs up

After running the Ve8 for about a year, the RC8Be has given a pleasant welcome. Their is so much adjusability built into this car.

For now i set it up box stock with 5/5/3 instead of 5/5/5. The steering is amazing. I was a little suspicious of 25 weight oil all around, but after i tried it it was very smooth over the bumps and never bottomed out. The suspension did settle a bit and needed readjustment.

Next is the 10x1.1 tapered pistons. For those of you running box stock, what can be expected with 5k in the rear? The car as it sits had a ton of both on power and off power steering, i kept cutting into corners trying to get use to it.

My motor (2650 @+3 degrees on 4S) ran 30 degrees cooler than a similar same roll out as opposed to the Ve8. This could have been a combination of a more efficient drive train or the benefit of running a aluminum mount and chassis as opposed to the plastic chassis of the Ve8.

I was initially looking at getting the 2650 for my RC8Be but I read where some people said it wasn't the best choice; I'm guessing you like this combo in yours?

I won't be doing much racing. I'll be running it in school parking lots mostly with my son and I just want it to be fast, fun and I want it to stay cool. I'm torn between the 2650 and the 2200 but I'm new to this so these probably shouldn't be my only two choices.
