yeah, I just like to hear from tekin wheather they think it's a good idea or not..I can't see why not. I'm one of the few people that has been using a 2s lipo for a reciever pack for a while and not have any issues. I've been using this:

I liked it becuase it's got it's own charger. when I get back from turn marshalling, I plug the car in. There is plenty of "slack" in the wall charger to make mods on the car, verify setup etc. Some people complain about charging a second battery, but doing it this way, sure does minimize the work.

No need to use an external booster nor external regulator. Use the ESC's built-in regulator. This setup is the same as using a single 7.4v battery race pack to power everything. Many 12th scale racers have done this mod and have worked flawlessly for many many months. I have been using this mod for over 2 months now and no issues. Modify at your own risk and may/will probably void your Tekin warranty.
Somebody understood what was going there pretty well.We need to look at it closer before we endorse it. You are actually giving the esc control circuits 3s voltage and letting our regulators provide the 6V to the receiver. The only downside is that our bec regulators cannot put out as much current due to the higher supply voltage which should not be problem in the 1S cars.
Should actually work the same with a 1S lipo added on the switch line. That really gives us the 2s lipo voltage we want.

The Losi Micro T battery pack works perfectly. And I can still use my old charger.

Only issue, If you want to plug directly into Rx, you have to change the connector, but these little guys are very effective, and dependable.

That is slick! Have to love user ingenuity

Unless you have a high voltage servo designed for 2s, you may have jittery problems feeding it over 7v and maybe killing the servo slowly. I think 5.7v is just perfect for most servos.

I just copied the configuration from the fast guys at Norcal. The least I could do is draw the diagram.
