Hitec 7940

from what i've been hearing it is, on the flip side, you have a great company and a great warranty backing you with those servos, so if the 7940 does turn out to be a dudd(I just bought two of them, so hopefully not) you can send it back for a new one, I've got a couple weeks of racing ahead with them in my cars for throttle, I'll report back, If I dont like them, Its back to the bls451 for me

i usually tend to error on the safe side so finishing the race is not the problem
thats why i would choose the 7950 over the 7940 personally

see that is a touch slow for me, I actually got quite used to those brushless servos cause they switch from open to close very quickly and are more responsive compared to the hitec brushed servos. I'm going to get a programmer and see if I can tune the servos to where I like, it seems like they are a bit slow and too twitchy for me just yet
I didnt check while I was out there, was adam using the 7940 on throttle and steering in his buggy?

the 7950 unregulated at 7.2v is plenty fast enough . if you are using a regulator or a ni-mh pack anything feels slow in comparison

Good point puddin! LOL
But seriously , I have seen many of the 7940 servos gearsets become notchy very quickly , I would chock it up to the insane amount of torque the motor will hold and the very tall gearing that puts a lot of stress on the gears themselves .
Still a badass fast servo and I am not trying to dis on them , just telling you that the 7950 would be a better choice for an 8th scale vehicle , that's all .
Happy motorin',

either way , hitec servos are the best package on the market.

IMO Hitec's always feel like that(kinda notchy and stiff to turn over.....when you manually turn them over they have an almost clicking sound...or at least all my 5955's and couple 7955's i got do....GRANTED they aren't the 40's but they are the same gear's(essentially) just geared differently i would figure....so a rough feel means nothing really, its what it feels like when its energized that counts....i find it hard to believe if the gear's themselves are failing...but hey ANYthing is possible if you look at it from the right perspective.
