Yes agree. That's what nice about the Losi BNB sets. You get a receiver and no radio so the price is reduced and you don't add more junk to the garage

According to the press release on AE's website, the release date is March 2010. I just hope they are out in time for the Off-Road NATS at RCMadness. Otherwise, 1/18 short course truck classes will be all Vendetta SC.

I have a few questions about this thing... does it take a full size servo? Also, can it take a normal 7.2V stick pack or can it only take a side by side pack, which is slightly smaller?
The inability to take a stick pack could kill it for me, since the lipos I want to put in are about the same size as a stick pack. Also, is it supposed to be released the 17th or in March?
Also, the dimensions of this thing are tiny! Much smaller than I imagined... The SC10 is wider than this thing is long!

My guess is that the Mid-January release date was for the original version with AM radio. The 2.4 GHz radio was not included in the original announcement in RCDriver. Perhaps Associated now needs until March to equip all the SC18s with 2.4 radios...

I'm completely new to miniw and was wondering what a good range for a brushless motor would be. I just want to be careful not to over power it. Is there a sweet spot type range for these minis as far as speed and control?
I'm definitely gonna pick up an SC18.

I run a small track where 22mph seems to be the max that even the better drivers can hit. 5400kv falls right in where we can gear it for easy driving, then change to a larger pinion if we want to blast down the street to impress the kids. The 6800 is fun on the street, but way too much for our track.
I actually prefer a larger can motor like a 24mm motor with lower kv. I use a Turnigy 24-35-4400kv in my 18T and it is faster than the Mamba 5400's, but I can control the power.
