The only complaint I had with the RB motor is a little lack of low end power. Which with the new B5 I have tons of low end and to be honest this motor has never seen a WOT the straight aways at the track I run at is only around 60-70ft. So the B5 has never really got to open up at this track. So this motor is a perfect fit for this kind of track. I already told Mike B. to get me another!!

Thanks for the info! Sounds like you are running on a really, really small track! Once get outside to some of the larger ones start playing around with pipes a little bit. I'm still not convinced that the JP3 is a really good fit for the power band on this engine so I think that changing this might help you quite a bit! Either way though for right now on the type of tracks that you are running on it sounds like it works just fine, so you might as well keep running it lol!

Regards,

Ron

Yea, the bottom end on these B5's is amazing! Before I bought the B5 I was running a newer version OS V-SPEC (2060 pipe)and a sirio CL7B-STI (2013 pipe)and I liked them a lot but I had to run 1.1 springs in my d8t truggy and I still was not happy with the bottom end, so ended up running my WERKS B3 which has a lot of bottom and it was great! Lcked a little on the top but it was better on the bottom than the vspec and the sirio. Then I got a B5 and WOW!!! The bottom end is insane! I even took the 1.1 springs out and put in 1.0's becasue it had SOOO much bottom! And the top end is awesome.. This to me is the best truggy engine I have ever run. Cant wait till the new WERKS pipes come in so I can pick up a couple!!!!

So far I am pretty impressed with the B5 also. I have raced mine one day and am still breaking in a little bit, so I wasn't a mad man on the needles I am running the motor in a Mugen MBX6 with 1.0 springs on Mugen Aluminums, a 14 tooth bell and the 2013 pipe and header. I was getting about 9:30 minutes runtime on an indoor track. This week I will be moving to the Werks 30% fuel for the first time. I can't wait to let the motor eat. I will also be breaking in my friends B5 for use in a Losi truggy, so I will let you guys know how that goes. If anyone racing at HCRC in Danville Indiana this weekend wants to see one of these motors in action just find me.

Thanks

Adam Kasch

hdcruzer, thanks for the tip on the pipe. Looking forward to getting some more feedback from others on it!
Nearly a gallon through the B5/2035 combo-running like a scalded dog with 1.0 springs. Power is a handful for me. Having too much fun to time runs yet I have a second one on BO

I see your running this in an mp9. How is this combo? Work well for you?

Thanks!

The Kyosho is very nice as well. The only other car at the track yesterday was a truggy, also running a B5. He was pleased with his as well. The buggy was able to pull him in the straight, of course. Mine is tuned at about 220 for now, still below race tune and its crazy fast. Its really more power than I need, but it's nice to have it there

Nasty I think that is the best pipe I have seen with that motor and ebay has the AXE ROSSI 2050 for $59 Trust me guys this is the pipe for this motor. I have seen alot of B5 motors run and Nasty had the 2013 in his car and the AXE 2050 kills it.

the funny thing is, i went with a one tooth smaller clutchbell! it revv'd to the moon. a little lean on the bottom, tho. after going ten minutes, i was getting a little bit of a lean bog at 218 degrees. top was fat and bottom was lean. but holy cow, it ripped up the infield. got 3rd and EVERYBODY in that heat was a waaaaaay better driver than me.

buy a B5... it'll make ya faster!

I'll let some of the other guys chime in on this but Kortz regularly get 8-9 gallons out of a p/s with our fuel. Rod will last the life of the p/s and no need to change it after break in like with some of the other ebrands of engines! Aldo for anyone looking to pick up some spares we will have the full range of them available with next weeks shipment. Expect to be able to order them from your favorite retailers such as a-main shortly afterwards!

Regards,

Ron

cant wait to run this motor. i have helped a couple of guys already with tuning and pipes and so far the 2060 was VERY good. the 2050 is good but the 2060 really gave this motor some top end. i've worked with alot of motors and tuning, run time, speed, lowend, great idle, smooth power, low price put this motor way out in front of more expensive mills. we also found the p3 plug was more gooder than the 97t.lol
