i would agree teh short LSP needle is a bit easier usually takes a little longer to get your tune more precise with the klong needle but it does pay off just remember small adjustments

Hi all, We just completed our National Championships yesterday, and my top GO buggy driver got a third place podium finish using the MG66.
He used the motor for the 30 min semi and 1 hour final. It ran flawlessly and attracted comments on it's smoothness and obvious power.
This was a great result in a top field including two of Australias top drivers who came over to NZ for this event.
The motor he used was my own MG66 that I gave him to use for this event, and it had already run two club meetings and a 3 day national event just prior to this event. All I did was change the rod and check the original bearings before I passed it on to him. What a sweet motor !!!!
Another top driver who runs a new GX 5 Port in his truggy was kicking butt in the Truggy final when his battery died. By the time he got back out he was just too far behind to get back up for a podium, but the motor was spectacular to watch in the truggy. The new GX 5's are very strong
Still recovering from the celebrations, but it was all worth it to see GO engines put firmly on the map as a top contender here in New Zealand.

I'm hoping Mark at massive makes the new design HSN available soon for the Mg66..I found the supplied one was incredibly sensitive and a tiny fraction of a turn made a big difference..a less sensitive needle would be easier to tune ..mark was talking increasing needle movement from 1/2 an hour to 2 hours for the same mixture adjustment..sounds about right to me...

Ran the new 5pt this weekend for the first time. Very impressed with the powerband and top end with the new pipe. Even when the motor was still rich I was able to come out of the turn behind one of my teammates Orion's and pull up right beside him (he freaked out, haha). Can't wait to run this motor again at our WOR race coming up.

amainhobbies has the GX5R in stock for $214.99, it's just $5 bucks higher than the standard 5PT, good deal!
