yes sir....i think it would work for what your trying to do....and even if the comp does wear a little faster....your only using 1....so a pair will last 2X as long in essence...try it on green first and if the wear is crazy fast go to black...your not really looking for that 1 shoe to do much of anything but start the initial clutch grab a little early and the fact it will lube the clutch and prevent slag build up.

i have taken a polishing bit to the inside and hit it real fast....the fit on some bearing's is better then others...but its normally a perfect fit as you dont want it too loose or the outer race starts spinning and defeats the purpose of the bearing itself.
I agree was running 2 carbon one up from green the shoes literally pealed off the clutch pins LOSI style was running a big motor thou OS 28 the M2C 4 shoe setup is the way too go for truggy.

I run this setup. While they might not last as long as other clutch setups they make up for it in drive ability. IMO

Also if you do run 3 alum and one comp. be sure the comp shoe is in line with the flyweight one the crank or it will cause a vibration that could shorten engine/engine bearing life.

I dont think so...running a 3 shoe with 2 alum 1 comp or 2 comp and 1 alum made jack difference on the motor bearing's/life...and it wont make a difference on a 4 shoe either....you Do Not have to worry about shortening the life of your motor or bearing's from running this set-up.

Ok well go ahead and run your un-balanced flywheel spinning at 30-40000 rpm. I guess this is kinda like when you said the alum bearing inserts weren't needed for the rear diff.

.....just something to consider; I run the exact setup in my truggy as my son in his buggy. ....2 alum/gold and 2 carbon/green. We run the stock losi flywheel and Answer/rc shoes. Even though I run truggy, my clutch shoes lasts approx 40% longer than my son's. We are both very competitive in our local class and run in the A main or upper B mains. .....this makes me think that driving style has a lot to do with how they wear. I used to compare my clutch use with his and it used to freak me out; I couldnt figure it out. I spoke with Brian at PTM and he said that some people are so hard on the shoes, ignore the de-burring needed between rounds, and the shoe eats itself up quickly. My son blips his throttle a lot in off power turns and I dont. Other than that, our styles are similar. I started checking his clutch after every heat and making sure there are no issues with the alum shoes. Now his clutch lasts longer; but still not as long as mine.........

I'm just using a Spektrum DX3 for now. I'm just a club driver nowadays so 6V performance is good enough for me. I believe the Rx needs to be regulated. What reg do you use?

I'm thinking the stock 1400 NiMh will probably work just fine though.

Spec is good for 9v so you really dont need a reg......I run Futaba rx with a losi reg.

try a stickman 2500 pack...there pretty good.

I use a diamond hand file....but a dremel works just be careful to not let the bit or drum get out of hand....and for when to do it...when the shoes have a melted lip building up...you want to 45degree those edges i also do the trailing edge of the shoes as that get's build up there as well.
